Svedka Vodka gave media types and tastemakers a first look at their Halloween-inspired cocktails by hosting the “Svedka Spooktacular” at Cove Lounge (325 Malcolm X Blvd.).
Along with passed hors d’oeuvres such as shrimp skewers and an assortment of mixed fruits, guests enjoyed three cocktails based on Svedka’s spirits. My favorite was the Svedka Sour Punch, which featured Svedka, blood orange soda and lemon juice. The cocktail was topped with a sour patch kid!
New York notables such as writers Leah Faye Cooper, Danielle Hester, Kela Walker and Sekou Writes along with Sidra Smith, the twin sister of actress Tasha Smith, were in attendance.
