WHAT HE SOUNDS LIKE

WHY YOU SHOULDN’T MISS HIM

Bob Dorough is a name you know whether you are a jazz enthusiast or simply attended elementary school in the US, believe it or not. After over 60 years, including collaborations with Miles Davis and Blossom Dearie, his piano playing is extremely fluent, although he is more admired for his “writing and knack for sardonic observation” sang in his signature raspy voice, that many, including the All About Jazz site, consider an “‘acquired taste, but…a taste worth acquiring’”. Although a renown bebop and cool jazz composer and performer, Dorough is most known for his 30 years worth of compositions for the series Schoolhouse Rock, which he will be performing at the Echoplex. You do NOT want to miss this.
