MJX is stepping up its game with the imminent release of a new toy quadcopter — its very first model with brushless motors with an impressive 20-minute flight time. The new drone, named “Bugs 3” or “B3” for short, will feature a fixed gimbal capable of carrying action cameras such as the GoPro Hero4.
The B3 will come with an upgraded MJX transmitter that features “Low Voltage” and “Low Signal” alerts. The Low Signal alert works by setting off an alarm in the transmitter when the drone’s RSSI signal or radio signal gets too weak due to physical obstructions such as walls or long distances while the Low Voltage alert lets the pilot know when the drone’s battery is low on power.
Although featuring an impressive flight time of up to 20 minutes, the B3 isn’t the only brushless toy drone that can fly that long — existing models such as the Hubsan H501S X4 are also capable of such flight times. However, the B3 is expected to sell for a lot less than the Hubsan making it a very attractive option for those looking for an inexpensive brushless quad with camera-carrying capabilities.

A source privy to the B3’s development has indicated that it will be available soon, quite possibly next week. Judging from the price of MJX’s only action camera drone in the market today — the X102H, I expect the Bugs 3 to fall in the $100 to $150 range.
