It’s time to just about wrap up our epic pre-Black Friday 2015 deal roundup. We’ve already brought you the most compelling Android-powered and Android-compatible bargains from retailers as diverse and outright obscure as Best Buy, Target, Staples, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Dollar General, BJ’s Wholesale, Toys R Us, Shopko, Kohl’s, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Hhgregg.
What could possibly be left unexamined? Why, it’s elementary, our dear readers. We haven’t yet tackled gadget promotions from the horse’s mouth. Thankfully, BF is still hours away, and besides, many device manufacturers and mobile carriers will sell phones, tablets and wearables at big discounts throughout the post-Thanksgiving weekend.
Samsung
Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 – $400
Tab S2 8.0 – $350
Galaxy View – $500
Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7.0 Kids Edition with bumper case – $100
Tab 3 Lite 7.0 standard – $80
Galaxy Tab A 9.7 – $280
Tab A 8.0 – $180
Galaxy Tab S 10.5 – $450
Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 – $550
Note Pro 12.2 64 GB – $750
Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 – $120
Gear S2 Classic – $300
Gear S2 – $250
Gear 2 Neo – $130
Gear Fit – $80
My oh my, that’s a hefty list of marked down Galaxy stars! Too bad there aren’t any phones on sale… anymore, and to be frank, we’ve seen pretty much each and every tab and wearable on offer from third-party merchants. Some, like the Tab 3, were even part of the Black Friday 2014 blowout, albeit at slightly higher prices.
Why shop at Samsung then? Because a few of the above mentioned items will be deducted all the way to Christmas. Meanwhile, the $500 Galaxy View is currently backordered at Amazon, and the Gear S2 is unlikely to drop below the $250 mark over the next few months.
Huawei
P8 lite – $200 ($50 off)
Huawei Watch – $350 for black stainless steel model with black stainless steel link band; $320 silver version with silver metal link band; $320 with silver mesh band; $300 black leather strap flavor
You’ll only get 24 hours to pursue this special offer once it kicks off… or you can head over to Amazon now, and buy an unlocked P8 lite at $201. The Huawei Watch is available for no less than $350 even through the kindest external retailers, so if the snazziest Android Wear timepiece looks tempting, it’s wisest to wait for the OEM’s Black Friday festivities.
HTC
Nexus 9 – starting at $240; $350 with 32GB storage, LTE support, and free Logitech keyboard bundled in
40 percent off all accessories between November 27 and 29
What’s the lowest the Nexus 9 goes for on Amazon? A whopping $310 or so in a Wi-Fi-only 16GB configuration. You have until Friday at 9 PM PT to score it from HTC’s e-store at an all-time low, with 500 gratis keyboards offered to those who dig high connectivity speeds and are addicted to digital hoarding.
As far as accessories go, an N9 keyboard folio will cost less than $80 after the upcoming 40 percent trim, while One M9 Dot View Premium cases should be as cheap as $24 soon.
Pebble
Time Steel – $200
Time – $130
Classic – $70
The metallic cross-platform watch is $50 off, the cheaper-looking version about as much, and the OG… costs the same via Amazon. Too bad Pebble couldn’t instead slash the $250 Time Round that, surprise, surprise, is $200 on the most famous e-commerce portal.
ZTE
Axon Pro 64 GB – $350
Axon Pro 32 GB – $330
Axon – $280
Zmax 2 unlocked – $130
Grand X Max+ for Cricket – $170
First and foremost, it’s important to distinguish between Axon variants. The non-Pro phone “only” packs 2 GB RAM, and swaps the octa-core Snapdragon 810 chip for a quad 801. As for the Zmax 2, its 5.5-inch display barely delivers 720p resolution, and a Snapdragon 410 processor runs the hardware show. Not an easy choice here, but perhaps you can get one of each. A Pro for yourself, a non-Pro for the wife, and a Zmax 2 for your teenage offspring.
Verizon
Ellipsis 10 tablet – $50 with two-year pacts
Fitbit Charge – $90
Samsung Galaxy S6 – $3.16 a month for two years
$500 for network changes and device trade-ins upon purchasing Galaxy S6
$500 for the same Droid Turbo 2 or S6 Edge deal
UE Megaboom Bluetooth speaker – $250
LG V10 – $11.33 a month
Ellipsis 8 tablet – $50 plus free $25 Google Play credit
Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker – $120
Mophie Powerstation 4,000 – $40
Beats Solo2 wireless on-ear headphones – $250
Now that’s quite an eclectic selection of gizmos. Basically, Big Red has something discounted for everybody prepped this holiday season, ranging from basic activity trackers to low-end tabs to versatile accessories to some of the best Android phones in the world.
Our personal favorite? The just-released V10, what with its shock-resistant exterior, secondary display, phenomenal cameras, fingerprint recognition, and 4 GB RAM. Too rich for your blood? Then, believe it or not, the Galaxy S6 may feel like the sensible alternative this Friday only.
T-Mobile
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – $475
Galaxy S5 – $400
Galaxy Core Prime – $100
LG G4 – $325
LG G Stylo – $215
Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 7 – $0 down; $0 a month
Who doesn’t love freebies? Granted, the “tablet on us” at Magenta is pretty, well, crappy, and it obviously requires a 1 GB or higher postpaid Simple Choice Mobile Internet plan. Absolutely no strings are attached to the Note 4, available for around 50 bucks less than unlocked “international” models elsewhere, or the ultra-low-cost Galaxy Core Prime.
The G Stylo can of course be had for even less with prepaid operators like Virgin or Boost Mobile, whereas the high-end G4 comes dangerously close to Moto G-level affordability. In leather. With a Quad HD screen in tow, as well as 16 and 8 MP cameras, 3 GB RAM, and hexa-core Snapdragon 808 muscle.
Sprint
Samsung Galaxy S6 – $9 a month with leases
One year of free Amazon Prime with S6, S6 Edge, Edge+ or Note 5 activations
Free 24-inch LG HD TV with G4 activations
Fitbit Charge – $90; Charge HR – $120
Garmin Vivofit 2 – $70; Vivosmart – $80; Vivoactive – $170
Withings Activite Pop – $130
LG Tone Pro – $40
It’s settled, the LG G4 is the ultimate Black Friday 2015 bargain, whether you pick it up from T-Mo, or the Now Network with an accompanying TV set. Don’t you find it hilarious that phones come with complimentary TVs nowadays instead of the other way around? And how crazy attractive are those super-low Galaxy S6 payment plans?
Not to mention Prime memberships, typically worth $99, and themselves giving early access to remarkable Amazon Black Friday deals that will be refreshed every half an hour or so towards the end of the week. But that’s a topic for another article.
