Note 3 Volume Goes Down when Call Comes In
Problem: Hi, All of a sudden, about a week ago. My Note 3 phone becomes inaudible (volume goes down) when a call comes in. I miss phone calls when this happens. I do not know a phone call came in. There is no missed calls in my log. Please help.
Solution: If the volume of your phone only goes down whenever you are getting a call then there’s a chance that an app may be causing the problem. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the default apps are loaded while apps that you installed from the Google Play Store are disabled.
Check out this guide to boot your phone in Safe Mode.
Have someone call you and see if the issue persists. If your phone volume does not go down then you will have to find out which app that you downloaded is causing the problem and uninstall it.
If the issue persists then I suggest doing a factory reset. This brings back your phone to its original condition when it was new. You will have to backup your phone before performing this procedure.
Check out this guide to perform a factory reset on your phone.
Note 3 Facebook App Issue
Problem: For some ones month ago I observed that each time I attempted writing comments in the comment box of Facebook on my galaxy note 3, it repeats the words and sometimes write jargons. Every attempt to clear or delete the jargons end up repeating it and writing more. Pls what do I do to correct it pls.
Solution: The Facebook app of your phone may have a glitch that is causing this problem. You should first try clearing the cache and data of the app. Take note that you will have to re-enter your login credentials after performing this procedure.
From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.
Tap Settings.
On the More tab, tap Application manager.
Tap the All tab.
Scroll to and tap the Facebook application.
Tap Clear cache.
Tap Clear data.
The application cache and data is now cleared.
If the issue still persists then uninstall the app and download a fresh one from the Google Play Store.
Note 3 Drag Down Notification Not Working
Problem: Hi, I can no longer use the drag down to check notifications. I have tried doing the “clear cache” procedure & it worked for about 3 minutes then reverted back to same issue. Please help. Best regards
Solution: This issue may already be caused by a glitch in your phone software. You should first check if there are any new updates available for your device and get them. These update contain improvements and bug fixes that may help resolve the issue. You should also consider performing a factory reset. Make sure to back up your data first.
Check out this guide to perform a factory reset on your phone.
Note 3 Calendar Stopped Working
Problem: Hi droidguy I have the global version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and currently whenever I start my phone or randomly the app/service crash message pops up saying calendar has stopped working, I have tried clearing the data and cache but it still keeps happening. Please let me know if you can help.
Solution: If clearing the cache and data does not work then your other option is to perform a factory reset. This brings your phone back to its original condition when it was new. Make sure to backup your phone data and sync your calendar to Google since all data in your phone will be erased in the process.
Check out this guide to perform a factory reset on your phone.
Note 3 Battery Life Issue
Problem: Dear Droid Guy, I have a Samsung galaxy note 3 unlocked limited edition gold. I have had it for about 1 month now and BTW it a used phone. The battery from 100% to 50 in about 3 hrs with minimal use to none. I am wondering if maybe it’s the phone or the battery how would I be able to find out please let me know ASAP thank you.
Solution: If your phone battery life has decreased dramatically then this may be caused by various reasons. It may be caused by a service, an app, or the battery itself.
The first thing that you should do is to check if there are any services running on your phone that you don’t really need at the moment. This includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, etc. Try turning them off and see if the battery life of your phone improves.
Next, you should check which apps are using the most battery life by checking your battery statistics usage. Depending on the data that you get you may want to uninstall the app that is using the most power.
If the issue is caused by an application then you should try booting your phone in Safe mode and see if the battery issue still exists.
Check out this guide to boot your phone in Safe Mode.
If the battery life of your phone improves then you should find out the app or apps that is draining your battery.
Sometimes a faulty microSD card may also be the culprit behind your battery issues. Try taking it out first and observe if the battery life of your phone improves.
If this is a software related issue then a factory reset will help. Make sure to backup your data before performing this procedure.
Check out this guide to perform a factory reset on your phone.
If you are still having battery issues at this point then the problem may be with the battery itself. Replace it with a new one.
Note 3 Can’t Add Emoji To Contacts
Problem: Hi guys, So, I updated to the latest 4.4.4 and I used to be able to add emojis next to contact names..like a monkey next to my daughter’s name..cute things like that. After update, it says “unable to paste emoticon on text.” It’s a small thing but I really liked it. Any ideas? All the ones I had before the update are still there. So it does display them still, just can’t add or change in the contact name fields. Help!
Solution: A lot of owners of this device who got the 4.4.4 update are also having this very same issue. Unfortunately, this issue seems that the update has prevented emojis from being used in your contacts field.
One workaround to this problem is to access you Contact information from your Google account on a computer browser and edit your contact from there.
Note 3 KitKat Update Question
Problem: I purchased the note 3 in may 2014. My note came with android jelly bean 4.3 out of the box. Occasionally I get notifications that android kitkat is available for download. I am a bit wary of downloading the update. Android 4.3 on my phone is very stable and I don’t want to mess it up. Can you please guide me on what I should do.
Solution: If you are satisfied with th way Android 4.3 works on your phone then there’s really no need for you to get the upgrade. It is true that the new software version brings several improvements to your phone however there is also the possibility that it will also introduce issues to it. Issues that your phone does not have right now while running on Jelly Bean.
Note 3 Downloads Streaming Videos
Problem: Recently the video player on this device now downloads streaming video back into the phone instead of playing the video at the sites visited . Previously videos were played on site. Hope you can help Me . Thanks.
Solution: You should try to clear the cache and data of the video player app you are using to resolve this type of issue.
From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.
Tap Settings.
On the More tab, tap Application manager.
Tap the All tab.
Scroll to and tap the video player application.
Tap Clear cache.
Tap Clear data.
The application cache and data is now cleared.
Note 3 Mutes During Calls
Problem: I checked your website for this issue but didn’t find a match. During a cell call (not WiFi call), after chatting a while, suddenly the person I’m speaking to stops hearing me & thinks we got disconnected. However I hear them during all this & the phone doesn’t disconnect the call. But often the other caller hangs up because they think we were disconnected. It occurs both on speakerphone & off. It’s like I accidentally hit the MUTE button so I check but that isn’t it & it is not activated. There was a recent software update (in-flight texts) & it’s possible the problem started after that but I can’t be sure. I have tried clearing the data cache from the safe mode menu. Are there any other things I should try before I take phone into the shop? If you already have a link to this issue, please let me know. Thanks.
Solution: Try to check first if this is a network related issue by making a call in different locations. This way your phone will be connected to different cell towers. If the problem occurs in only a particular location then this may be a network related issue.
If you have access to another SIM card you should also try to insert it in your phone and see if the issue still persists. If it doesn’t then the problem may be with your SIM in which case you should ask for a replacement.
Since you already cleared the phone cache the next step that you should do is to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your data first before performing this procedure.
Check out this guide to do a factory reset on your phone.
If the factory reset fails to resolve the issue then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.
Note 3 Indicator Light Always On
Problem: I have a problem with my Samsung note 3 its indication light in green colour is continuously ON. Can you tell me it’s solution to turn off. Thanks.
Solution: Most owners of this device who have experienced same issue say that an app installed in your phone is causing the problem. To find out if this is the case here you should start your phone in Safe Mode. Wile in this mode only the default apps are loaded while the third party apps you installed from the Google Play Store are disabled.
Check out this guide to boot your phone in Safe mode.
If the issue does not occur in Safe mode then you should find out what app is causing this and uninstall it.
If the isue persists even in Safe Mode then you have to do a factor reset on your phone. Make sure to backup your data before proceeding.
Check out this guide to perform a factory reset on your phone.
Note 3 App Launching Issue
Problem: Every time I try to open my email or any app, Google play store launches. How do I fix it?
Solution: You should try clearing the apps default setting of your phone.
From the Home screen, press Menu > Settings.
Find the Application section in Settings, then look for the app that is being used as the default for an action and tap on it. You may need to switch to the tab that displays all applications if you don’t see it in the initial area.
Press the Clear defaults button at the bottom of the app details screen.
Try opening your email this time and when prompted to choose which app to use choose your preferred email app.
Note 3 Gallery Not Responding
Problem: Hi, I wondered if you would know why my picture gallery is frozen. It won’t let me scroll. It’s just stuck! My phone is only a couple months old. A Samsung Note 3. Thanks, I appreciate your help.
Solution: You should try clearing the cache of your gallery app.
From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.
Tap Settings.
On the More tab, tap Application manager.
Tap the All tab.
Scroll to and tap the video player application.
Tap Clear cache.
The application cache is now cleared.
If the issue still persists then try wiping the cache partition of your phone. This does not delete your personal data.
Check out this guide to wipe your phone’s cache partition.
Note 3 Contacts Missing
Problem: I picked up my note 3 to make a call and all my contacts were gone. The numbers are there on my messages but my contact list is completely gone. I had almost 700 numbers on there along with addresses and such. What happened and can I get them back.
Solution: Have you tried checking if your phone is set to display the correct contact settings? Open your contacts settings and check if it is displaying contacts from your device, SIM, or Google account. Make the necessary changes to display your contact list.
Note 3 Error 24 When Downloading Amazon Music Application
Problem: Hello, I’ve tried to download the Amazon Music App multiple time without success. I keep getting an unknown error -24 every time. OS is 4.4.4 Do I need to stop my security software? 7.2 GB of storage space used.
Solution: An error 24 means that data from the previous app version has not been completely removed from your phone. You will need a file manager to navigate to the internal storage of your phone and go to android/data/. Search for a folder Amazon Music folder and delete it.
After yo have deleted the folder try to install the app again.
Note 3 Unable to View Videos
Problem: Having trouble watching a video that I made on photo grid thru video player it says unable to watch video during call but there’s NO call in progress!!! Please help.
Solution: This issue might be caused by a third party communication app. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode.
Check this guide to start your phone in Safe Mode.
Try watching a video again and if you are able to do so then the problem is most likely caused by a communications app. You should find out what app this is and uninstall it. Start with Viber, WhatsApp, Skype, etc. until you find the cause of the problem.
If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your data first.
Check this guide to do a factory reset on your phone.
Note 3 SD Card Removed Error
Problem: I’m using my note 3 for over 4 months. Now suddenly it says that the SD CARD is removed. But actually it is not . I tried restarting the phone and also removed and placed the SD CARD again but the problem remains the same. All my apps that has been transferred to the SD CARD earlier is not starting and requesting to download again. Why is this happening? And for further information my SD CARD is SanDisk. And it’s capacity is 16 GB. I will be very pleased if u can see and suggest a solution to my problem.
Solution: In most cases that deal with this type of issue the problem is with the SD caard itself. Try to use another SD card on your phone and see if the error message still occurs. If it doesn’t then your SD card may already be faulty.
If the issue error message still pops up even with the new SD card then you should check if this is a software related issue by performing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your data before proceeding.
To perform a factory reset check out this guide.
If the issue still persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. You should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.
Note 3 Not Responding
Problem: Hi, My galaxy note 3 N900T has stopped working all of a sudden and I can’t reset or reboot it since it is not responding to any key/action. ANY HELP PlEASE? Thanks in advance!
Solution: Try taking out the battery then reinsert it after a few seconds. Turn on your phone and if it doesn’t respond connect your phone to a wall charger and let it charger for at least 30 minutes. If the charging indicator on your phone lights up then there is a good chance that your battery may simply just be low on power.
If your phone still does not turn on after charging it for 30 minutes then try replacing its battery with a new one.
You should also attempt to wipe the cache partition of your phone by following this guide
Note 3 Vibrates When Playing Music
Problem: Hey I have a note 3 and most of the time when I play music my whole phone vibrates. Then if I touch it in the right place it stops. Is this a common issue? What can I do to fix this?
Solution: Ty disabling the haptic feedback of your phone by going to settings > sound > then make sure that the Vibrate on touch option is unchecked.
If the problem persists then wipe the cache partition of your phone or do a factory reset if the issue is not resolved. Make sure that you have backed up your data.
