Motorola announced the Moto X smartphone about a month ago, and we were pleasantly surprised when Motorola assured to send out custom made units of the smartphone (through Moto Maker) in four days. But Motorola has now come out with a word claiming that it might not be able to live up to its word.

The company mentioned in its blog post that huge amounts of orders might actually delay the shipments of a few orders, which is understandable. As we know, units of Moto X are hand assembled at its Ft. Worth unit in Texas. Motorola is also believed to be working hard to bring the engraving feature back, which was scrapped citing issues with quality.

Motorola said – “We’ll be working hard to get your customized Moto X to you as quickly as possible. We expect that because of high demand, initial shipping times may vary. But we will get that down to 4 days or less as soon as we possibly can“. Phone Scoop claims that Motorola will be bundling the Skip accessory along with early orders of the Moto X. As you all probably know already, the custom made Moto X is currently available only through AT&T.

Would you mind if your custom made Moto X is delayed by a couple of days? Let us know.
