Daniel Panda asked: “What is your vision for your optimal live performance? What things about the setting, environment, theme and audience of an event make it a especially positive and unique experience for you and what kind of things would you like to see more of in the future at events you perform at and attend?”

The Polish Ambassador: “This is an awesome question and one I could talk about for a long long time, but I’ll give you the short version:

“From a performance perspective, I’m very interested in the convergence of electronic and acoustic. For this tour, we’re experimenting with a vocalist in Ayla Nereo of Wildlight. In Spring, we are going to weave in some trumpet with Saqi, the newest Jumpsuit Records addition. Saqi and Ayla are also collaborating now. The idea of planning a night of music where we can all jump in on one another’s sets feels fun, connected, and inspiring and I’m into that.

“From a crowd perspective, I’d love to find ways to break down that 4th wall and incorporate the crowd into the show. I have lots of ideas in this department but keep it focused on this tour at hand we are playing dress up. I think encouraging people to dress up (in this case in one piece garments) creates a crowd artist connection as well as an inter-crowd connection that heightens excitement for the show in general.”

Kevin Anthony Bernard Jr. asked: “Who were your musical role models growing up. Which artists really shaped your sound as well as inspired you as an artist/composer?”

The Polish Ambassador: “I was born in 1980, so most of my early musical memories were 80s pop music. Toto, Lionel Richie, Billy Ocean, Genesis…the melody was rich and the emotion was real. I think I try to capture that style of music and merge it with golden era hip hop. Pete Rock, CL Smooth, early Outkast, Beastie Boys, etc, etc. The product is melodically driven hip hop that gets that booty moving.”

Hannah Pourang asked: “How did Wildlight’s ‘Hers Was A Thunder’ come to be? The album is extremely special and I’m wondering what the inspiration was.”

The Polish Ambassador: “I met Ayla at Ecstatic dance in Oakland. We both like to boogie down in our bare feet and dance real weird. I found out she was a vocalist because she did the sound healing at the end of the event. She found out I compose music and asked me for Ableton lessons. The rest is history!”

Ashley Eli Sanders asked: “How has sharing your music with the world for free impacted your career professionally and personally?”

The Polish Ambassador: “Sharing is great because it encompasses both giving and receiving. Here I’ll share some music with you. Oh what’s that? You want to share some money with me in form of a donation? Cool. I like the idea of sharing because it removes all expectation. I don’t want to live my life expecting things are going to happen for me in the future. That creates anxiety which sucks…badly. I just want to create art and see if the universe supports me in doing what I love. That feels more experimental, more present and gives me a warm feeling in my belly when I fall asleep at night.”

Ty Pomaikalanei asked: “The album title Ecozoic and the music contained therein calls for a new era of human perspective; non~separateness from the larger ecosystem. What steps are you personally taking to create a more balanced world with this returning perspective, and how can the Onesie Mafia, aka your loyal fan base, best support your efforts?”

The Polish Ambassador: “Awesome question. I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the past year. As a professional artist, I feel a certain sense of duty to be in service to my fellow humans. For whatever reason, the voice of an artist has strength to carry ideas to more receptive ears. I think first and foremost creating music that is a reflection of my emotional state and how I want to see the world is a great way to serve humanity. Packaging up positive vibrations in the form of music sends subliminal codes and messages to those available to receive.

“As a more direct and tangible offering, I’ve committed myself to learn independence from big business and the government. I think most of us can agree that a lot of our societal problems in life are due to our dependency on big business, government, the oil industry, etc. So, the more of us that become independent, the less power business and government holds over us.

“That said, all of the profit coming in from TPA is going directly into experiments in off grid living. Solar, wind power, hydro, passive solar building, earth home building, and building community through these types of experiments. I love the idea of using The Polish identity to create positive vibe music, merge it with some of the ecological ideas above and see what can unfold. Ill be posting more on that soon. Tune in on Facebook!”
