GREENVILLE — The high school basketball seasons for both boys and girls have yet to reach the midway point of their schedules. As for wrestlers, they are just three weeks away from the team district tournaments.

On Tuesday, Greenville High School released the district tournament pairings for wrestling, girls basketball and boys basketball teams.

The Yellow Jackets will have the benefit of wrestling at home for the Division 2 district tournament on Thursday, Feb. 6. Division 1 and 3 tournaments will take place on Feb. 7, while Divisions 2 and 4 on Feb. 8.

Greenville, which be shooting for its ninth straight district championship, will host Fremont in the first round at 5:30 p.m. Cedar Springs, which has a first round bye, will face the winner in the district final following the first match.

The district winner will advance the regional tournament hosted by Mount Pleasant on Feb. 12.

Greenville wrestlers will compete in the individual district tournament on Feb. 8 at Gaylord. The individual regional tournament will take place Feb. 15 at Bay City Western.

The team state final (quarterfinals and semifinals included) will take place on Feb. 21-22 at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek. The individual state tournament takes place Feb. 27 and March 1 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The girls basketball district tournament begins on Feb. 24.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Forest Hills Northern for their first round game at 7p.m.. The district is hosted by Cedar Springs, but all first round games are at separate locations. Lowell will face Rockford and Cedar Springs will face Forest Hills Central in other first round games. Northview has a bye.

The district semifinals will take place Feb. 26 (Greenville would play at 5 p.m. against the winner of Lowell/Rockford should they advance) and the finals at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28

The district champion will travel to Grand Haven for the regional tournament.

The boys basketball district tournament begins on March 3

The Yellow Jackets will host Forest Hills Northern at 7 p.m. The district is hosted by Cedar Springs, but all first round games are at separate locations. Lowell will face Northview and Rockford will face Cedar Springs in other first round games. Forest Hills Central received a bye.

The district semifinals will take place on March 5 (Greenville would play at 5 p.m. against the winner of Lowell/Northview should they advance) and the finals at 7 p.m. on March 7.

The district champion will travel to Zeeland East for the regional tournament.
