8.00pm The BBC Children In Need Sewing Bee BBC2 - The Sewing Bee returns for three special Children in Need episodes, as 12 celebrity sewers battle it out over three challenges set by Saville Row's Patrick Grant and sewing expert May Martin. The celebrities are sewing for BBC Children in Need to inspire viewers to get creative at home and raise money for the charity. Each of the three celebrity hosts will also visit an individual project supported by the charity. Jenny Eclair hosts the first episode, welcoming the stars into the sewing room. The A-line skirt pattern challenge proves to almost be the undoing of chef and Hairy Biker Dave Myers; DJ Edith Bowman transforms a gawdy Hawaiian shirt into a child's garment; Embarrassing Bodies' Dr Dawn Harper proves she can sew with surgical precision across the challenges, despite her shaking hands; and Wendi Peters puts her upholstery sewing skills to the test on a 1950s recreation dress made against the clock.
9.00pm DIY SOS: The Big Build BBC1 - Nine-year-old Brandon has an extreme form of epilepsy. He has between 20 and 30 seizures a day and requires 24-hour care. His mum, Jenny Lowther, cannot let him out of her sight for even a moment since the house is not safe for him. Nick and the DIY boys, aided by designer Naomi Cleaver and a whole host of Essex trades, descend on the house to make it into a wonderful home for Jenny, Brandon and the whole family.

8.00pm George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Channel 4 - The series celebrating ingenious and eccentric small builds returns. In this opening episode, George meets a man who bought the wreck of a £20 million private jet for just £4,000 and plans to transform it into the ultimate crash pad for him and his wife. There's also a gypsy tattoo artist who swapped his truck for an old railway carriage, which he hopes to turn into a home for him and his two children for only £7000. George teams up once again with master craftsman Will Hardie to hand build a woodland retreat for less than the price of a family holiday.
8.00pm Scorpion ITV2 - New US drama that follows Special agent Cabe Gallo forms a new team of super geniuses, hiring former child prodigy Walter O'Brien to lead a team of his brilliant friends. They are assigned their first mission by the government to help land airplanes at LAX when the entire communication system shuts down due to a bug at the control tower.
8.30pm The Big Bang Theory E4 - New series of the popular US comedy. Leonard and Amy take an unexpected road trip to Arizona to pick up Sheldon when his epic railway journey ends in chaos. Penny has an interview for a sales job at Bernadette's company. Howard finds Stuart's increasingly friendly relationship with his mother downright weird.
9.00pm Life Story BBC1 - David Attenborough explores how animals attempt to overcome the challenges that face them at each of the six crucial stages of life as they strive towards ultimate success - passing on their genes. In this first episode animals overcome their first great hurdle - surviving infancy. Flightless barnacle goose chicks face their greatest challenge at the very start of their lives.
9.30pm Drifters E4 - Best friends Meg, Bunny and Laura are back, still trying - and largely failing - to figure out love and life in Leeds. In episode one, Meg is traumatised when her parents announce a trial separation. But perhaps fit new neighbour Scott, who offers to practise his counselling skills on her, can ease the pain? Meanwhile, Bunny has started seeing the banjo player from promising but unsigned band The New Harvesters. And Laura finds herself taking care of Gary after an unfortunate incident.

9.00pm Alex Polizzi's Secret Italy Five - Documentary series in which hotelier and presenter Alex Polizzi rediscovers her roots while travelling across Italy. In the first episode, she takes in the north of the country, revisiting Venice, a city where she has often been and Rome, where she lived in her twenties. She also gets up close and personal with some of Maria Callas's costumes in Italy's fashion capital, Milan.
11.05pm The Feeling Nuts Comedy Night Channel 4 - Jack Whitehall plays host to an evening of entertainment that's full of surprise comedy pairings and some seriously awkward conversations, while encouraging the nation to feel nuts. This momentous event's aim is to raise awareness of testicular cancer and make audiences laugh along the way. The show reunites sitcom pair Martin Clunes and Neil Morrissey in a brand new Men Behaving Badly sketch written by Simon Nye. Heavyweight comedy double act Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse perform a classic sketch. There's a special musical collaboration from James Corden and Rizzle Kicks, while Jimmy Carr and Jamie Cullum form an unlikely alliance.
