11.30am First Time On the Frontline BBC1 - Series following Britain's next generation of emergency service recruits as they embark on their new careers. In this programme, police special Amber's first shift starts with a bang - but her drugs raid doesn't go as planned. Rookie fire fighter Ian is pushed to his limit on a tough breathing apparatus training exercise. And new paramedic Sam's first day proves to be a real challenge, as he responds to every parent's worst nightmare.
2.00pm Jo Frost Family Matters ITV - Jo Frost helps families work on their troublesome relationships. In this edition, she tackles two families whose lives are being torn apart by their out-of-control toddlers. Jo dishes out some hard-hitting home truths and prepares to help these families before their marriages fall apart and their childrens' behaviour gets any worse.
4.00pm Ejector Seat ITV - Andi Peters presents the game show in which contestants compete against each other answering general knowledge questions to try and win the 10,000 pound jackpot. For every question answered right the contestant remains where they are, but get a question wrong and their seat starts moving back towards the edge.

8.00pm Britain's Most Extreme Weather Channel 4 - In this four-part series weatherman Alex Beresford investigates why Britain's recent weather has been so severe and asks if the country is facing the worst weather in recorded history. Alex trawls through centuries of British history to compare weather from the past with that of today, and examines the very latest scientific discoveries to find out if things are getting worse. The first programme looks at Britain's most fearsome floods.
9.00pm Vets in the Danger Zone BBC2 - Michael Mosley travels to the Philippines in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan to discover the animals caught up in the crisis and the specialist team of vets who have come to the disaster zone to treat them. Amid the devastation, Michael learns about the little-known work these expert vets do, both in the short term by providing immediate veterinary care to thousands of animals and in the long term, by using their skills to develop pioneering technology that could help save millions of animals the next time a disaster strikes.

When Farrow looks into a seemingly forgotten case, he has no idea of the chaos and heartache that will soon follow. 9.00pm My Brother, The Terrorist BBC3 - Filmmaker Robb Leech attempts to understand his stepbrother's journey from middle-class white boy in Weymouth to convicted terrorist. In 2010 Robb spent a year filming his stepbrother Rich after he turned his back on the world in which he grew up to become a fundamentalist Muslim called Salahuddin.
9.00pm Hinterland BBC4 - Detective drama series. On his first day in his new job in Aberystwyth, DCI Tom Mathias is called out to investigate a suspicious disappearance. In a quiet seaside bungalow he discovers a bathroom covered in blood but no sign of the owner. His investigation into the disappearance of 64-year-old Helen Jenkins leads him to the cascading waters of an ancient ravine at Devil's Bridge, and uncovers the cruel history of a long-closed children's home. (In Welsh and English with English subtitles).
10.00pm Love for Sale with Rupert Everett Channel 4 - In this bold and highly personal two-part documentary, actor and writer Rupert Everett asks why people really buy and sell sex.
Tuesday
9.00pm Happy Valley BBC1 - hugely exciting new drama from acclaimed writer Sally Wainwright and starring Sarah Lancashire and Steve Pemberton. The drama which sees a Yorkshire police sergeant come face to face with the man who destroyed her family. Sergeant Cawood's world stops when the man who drove her daughter to suicide is released from prison, and Kevin's split-second decision devastates his life.
9.00pm Mr Drew's School for Boys Channel 4 - Boys aged 12 and under are now almost six times more likely than girls to be kicked out of school, while 90% of young offenders were previously excluded from school. In this new four-part series, inspirational head teacher Stephen Drew from Educating Essex wants to help 11 boys whose behaviour is threatening their future by enrolling them - and their parents - in a residential summer school like no other.
9.00pm Behind Closed Doors Five - Observational documentary series going behind the scenes at a GP surgery in Lewisham to examine what exactly goes on between doctor and patient when the door to the consultation room is closed.

10.00pm The Last Chance School Channel 4 - Documentary that shines the spotlight that Muntham House School in West Sussex. Home to some of the toughest to teach children in the country. Each year, over 5000 children are excluded from mainstream education in the UK, and just under 60 of them study here: a specialist boarding school for boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Many of Muntham House's pupils have been excluded because of violent and disruptive behaviour. But the dedicated teachers, led by charismatic headmaster Richard Boyle, are committed to finding out what it is in each boy that will inspire them to want to turn their lives around.
10.35pm Over to Bill BBC1 - The first of a new series of BBC1 comedy pilots. Over to Bill follows BBC weatherman Bill Onion's (Hugh Dennis) attempts to get back on television after being fired. He turns to best friend Jez for help, as Jez knows Nigel Harrington, a TV executive at Channel 4. Unfortunately Jez's wife-to-be, Selina, is systematically 'culling' all of Jez's friends and is none too keen on Bill. Bill must be sure not to offend Selina if he is to have an opportunity to talk to big-shot Harrington.

9.00pm Panorama: Behind Closed Doors BBC1 - Secret filming inside two of Britain's care homes uncovers what can happen away from the eyes of relatives and inspectors. It shows the lives of some elderly and vulnerable people blighted by poor care. Care workers have been suspended and others convicted of assault following the filming - revealing residents being neglected and mistreated.
9.00pm The Birth of Empire: The East India Company BBC2 - Dan Snow travels through India in the footsteps of the company that revolutionised the British lifestyle and laid the foundations of today's global trading systems. 400 years ago British merchants landed on the coast of India and founded a trading post to export goods to London. Over the next 200 years, their tiny business grew into a commercial titan. Using the letters and diaries of the men and women who were there, this documentary tells the story of the East India Company, which revolutionised the British lifestyle, sparked a new age of speculation and profit and by accident created one of the most powerful empires in history. Yet inexorable rise ended in ignominy. Accused of greed, corruption and corporate excess, by the 1770s the company's reputation was ruined.
10.00pm Orphan Black BBC3 - Series 2 of the US sci-fi drama. Sarah is out of options, on the run, and pursued by deadly adversaries. Desperate to find her daughter Kira, Sarah suspects ruthless pro-clone Rachel is behind Kira's disappearance and sparks an all-out war against her. Alison and Donnie attend the funeral of her fallen friend Aynsley, causing Alison to sink into guilt and despair. Cosima is faced with a perplexing decision that may have dire consequences.

9.00pm Heston's Great British Food Channel 4 - In this new series, Heston Blumenthal delves into the history of some of our favourites - from curry to pies to afternoon tea and chocolate - in order to find inspiration for an amazing culinary salute. The first episode is all about the great British pie, with Heston on a mission to find inspiration for a three-course pie banquet. For his starter, he delves into the history of the 'surprise' pies of the 17th century, where some ingredients were sometimes - bizarrely - alive. He learns about Jeffrey Hudson, a dwarf boy who would jump out of a pie at banquets.

9.00pm Nature's Misfits BBC2 - Bill Bailey introduces a delightfully eccentric cast of creatures that do things differently: unconventional and unusual, animals that turn oddness into opportunity.
10.35pm The Beatles: The Night That Changed America - A Grammy Salute ITV - Entertainment special celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of the most memorable moments in music and television's joint history - the groundbreaking first appearance by the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. This musical celebration of that evening sees the two remaining Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with a host of huge musical names including Alicia Keys, Dave Grohl, Eurythmics, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder performing Beatles classics, while various presenters and performers including Sean Penn, Johnny Depp and Eric Idle help contextualise and highlight the musical, cultural and historical impact of the group. The programme also features David Letterman interviewing Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at the iconic Ed Sullivan Theatre, as well as interviews with people who worked on the 1964 show and were in the audience.
