Wendy Wu Tours has announced a partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to launch a new Hong Kong foodie tour

The unique three-night foodie tour in Hong Kong can be bought as a standalone package or added to any longer China trip and will explore Sham Shui Po, one of Hong Kong’s most fascinating neighbourhoods – known as one of the best foodie enclaves in Hong Kong. This tour includes many tastings at key local eateries, while you learn the history and culture of this charming district.

Laurence Hicks, Managing Director of Wendy Wu Tours said: “China boasts a world class cuisine and food is always an incredible highlight to any trip to China, so we are delighted to offer the inside track to food in Hong Kong – the world capital of Cantonese cuisine – and China. Our partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and experts including TV’s celebrity chef Ching He Huang, means we can guide you to the best, while finding out fascinating facts about culture and history.”

Dawn Page, Director UK and Northern Europe at Hong Kong Tourism Board said: “Hong Kong is well suited to foodie travellers. With over 11,000 restaurants you can eat out three times a day for ten years and never eat at the same restaurant twice! Asia’s World City boasts 62 Michelin-starred restaurants including Tim Ho Wan, the world’s most affordable, and 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana, the only Italian restaurant outside of Italy that has been awarded three Michelin stars.”

TV chef Ching He Huang recently travelled to Hong Kong to experience the amazing culinary treats for herself, a short video of Ching can be found on the below link. Ching will also lead the first Wendy Wu Tours culinary tour of China ‘A Taste of China’ in May 2014 which takes in Beijing, Xian, Sichuan Province and Shanghai. The 14 day tour starts from £4,990pp and also includes three days in Hong Kong.

The three-night Hong Kong Food Tour – staying at the Harbour Plaza North Point, costs from £449 excluding flights. The food tour can also be added on to any of Wendy Wu Tours group tours to China.
