Born in Havana in 1945. He graduated in Art History at the University of Havana.

In 1961, began working in the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry. Cameraman and director of photography for over 80 documentary films and fiction.

After two decades as a cameraman for documentaries and fiction films, begins as a director of short films, in 1984.

He has participated in courses and workshops on photography, acting and directing actors. He has taught courses and conferences of photography and documentary filmmaking.
