It’s Sunday Morning and the air is crisp and cool! It really is FALL! Time for this weeks episode of The Cottage of the Week…Starring Our Southern Living. You are in for a treat…so grab your cup of coffee…tea…latte or even your diet coke and join me as we take a trip down South and enjoy a very gracious Southern Home.
Before we open the doors to this gorgeous home…I would like you to meet Christy and her lovely family.
Christy is a real sweetheart and adores blogging. She use to teach 5th, 6th and 3rd grade along with ESOL and Early Reading Intervention but she left her profession when her second child was born so she could be with her children. Something that she never regrets…Being Mom is the best job she has ever had! But she still keeps here hand in the educational process by subbing! Nothing makes her happier than her family and friends. Her friends lovingly refer to her as Martha Stewart and you are about to see why : ) Let’s knock and take a Sunday Morning tour of this gorgeous home.
Before we go in…let’s take a peek at the Front Porch all decked out for the Fall…we start with this amazing vignette and may I say it is simply amazing and oh that shabby color turquoise is scrumptious.
The entire porch is decked out for the Fall and of course some touches for Halloween…The family doggie Lizzie is awaiting our arrival…hope you brought some treats!
Isn’t this entrance way amazing…the study is to the left and the formal dining room is to the right. The hardwood floors are pristine and the vintage/antique rugs are simply gorgeous.
Kristy is such a fabulous decorator. She incorporates antiques, vintage, new purchases and inexpensive thrift store finds to create her magic decor. According to her family…Kristy would rather go to a Thrift Store than the Mall!
The formal dining room is stunning and get this…Kristy snatched that fabulous rug up from ebay a rock bottom price…it’s vintage too!!!
The Fall table is set with the most gorgeous hydrangeas, burlap pumpkins and candles…accented with a simply table runner.
During the Summer…the table is set with fresh blooms and I had to share them with you because the table looks exquisite.
As you can see…it’s all about the details. The perfect accent pieces and picture perfect placement of every item.
Let’s zoom in and take a close look at Kristy’s Coffee Filter Wreath…the perfect touch to this beautiful hutch.
I have to share this piece of hand painted furniture with you…accented with just the right touches…but the silver footed tray that Kristy’s Mother gave her is the shining star kissed with pumpkins and hydrangeas.
Don’t you agree…it’s the perfect touch!
The Family Room is all decked out for Fall.
You have to drop by and see all of the details that make up this wonderful mantle.
Then…it’s all about the…you guessed it…details…
details…
details! This little vignette is a perfect example of Kristy’s thrifting ways…Here we have a $2 thrift store shutter and with the addition of felt pads…it becomes the perfect tray for the base of this display. Upcycling is so great! Gotta love it!
The Living Room is breathtaking. Light and airy but rich in luxury.
From every angle…this room if fabulous. The trim…the windows…the fabrics all just blend together in perfect harmony.
The coffee table sparkles with touches of the beach…a gorgeous vignette.
It is now “prop” time for Kristy’s daughter who was the lighting specialist during the home photo shoot…APPLAUSE and APPAWS!!!! You rock!!!
Cooking is a favorite hobby in this home and let me tell you…the kitchen is absolutely awesome! It is the families favorite room in the house and you are about to see why. I feel as though I have been transported to the South of France.
The island is spectacular and adds to the Country French look. The bead board cabinets are picture perfect. You have to go and take the complete kitchen tour and you will learn about the planning and execution of this gorgeous piece.

This is by far my favorite feature…check it out…a pull out cabinet for the Kitchen Aid…awesome! Then there is a pull out drawer that holds all of the sheet pans…now that is organized!
Once again there are details every where you look. This gorgeous antique tole watering can is another one of Kristy’s vintage finds.
The tumbled marble was hand painted by a local artist…the Frenchy Country village scene is so…French…fired for major durability and adds so much personality to the space.
My heart is a flutter…a pasta water faucet!!!
How much do you love this pull out spice rack…right next to the stove…and guess what? There are two of them…that’s right…pull out spice racks on both sides…BRILLIANT!!!!
The cabinetry is amazing! There is just so much more to see here…drop by for a cup of coffee and enjoy all the other details. I think the ONLY thing this kitchen is missing is Jacques Pepin
I also need to mention that there is A breakfast room as a part of this kitchen…could this space be more perfect?

Let’s take a peek at the Master suite…you will feel as though you are in the most fabulous Bed and Breakfast. I even think that the room comes with croissants and home made jam : )

Then you can relax and enjoy a long soak in this heavenly tub.
When you have a moment…drop by the Guest Room…tons of vintage and cottage chic goodness awaits!
We are now going upstairs…just look at those floors…the ceiling…the windows.
Upstairs you will find the young lady of the house and her beautiful room…I am wondering if it is always that neat???
Then there is the young man of the houses room and I ask yet the same question…is the bed always made like that??? If so…I want to know your secret!
I do have to make note that your son has extraordinary taste in baseball teams!!!
You are also going to find a crafting space…laundry room and media room along with 2 bathrooms upstairs…so please come on over and check them all out! Oh…by the way…there is a mini kitchen!!! WOW!
