Aesthetic Medicine Magazine Editor: Vicky Eldridge picks out three aesthetic treatments and products for you, as seen on ‘The Ultimate Anti Ageing Guide” TV Show on Sky Fitness and Beauty Channel 282.

3DLipo

Lets face it most of us would like to lose a few extra pounds and tone up our physiques so it is no surprise that body shaping treatments are becoming increasingly popular as a non-invasive alternative to liposuction. There are lots of different technologies on the market from laser lipo to cryolipolysis but one treatment that has been gaining column inches for losing patients inches is the 3D Lipo system. Apprentice winner Dr Leah Totton even has one in her new London clinic and predicts it to be one of the most popular procedures on the menu. Unlike other treatments which may rely on just one technology 3D Lipo uses ultrasound Cavitation and Cryolipolysis to physically destroy the fat cells as well as radio-frequency for skin tightening and 3D-Dermology to target cellulite. The company also recently launched a new medically supervised diet programme – 3D Lipolite which – combines the treatment with a weight loss plan for those people who have more weight to lose.

 Dermalux

Adult acne is on the rise and if like me you suffer from breakouts you may be interested in Dermalux. The award winning LED Phototherapy treatment uses of 3 specifically chosen light waves (red, near infrared and blue light treatment) to accelerate the body’s own natural repair processes. It is completely non-invasive and can be used to treat a variety of common skin conditions, such as Acne, Rosacea, Psoriasis, Eczema and Dermatitis as well as to improve a poor complexion and target signs of ageing such as lines and wrinkles, sunburn skin damage and pigmentation.

 Skinceuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector

Over half of women between the ages of 35 through 59 cite discoloration and uneven skin tone as a more significant skin concern than loss of firmness. However there has been a lot of controversy surrounding certain pigmentation products, which contain the skin bleaching ingredient hydroquinone. In response to that SkinCeuticals has recently launched a new product called Advanced Pigment Corrector which has been shown to have the same effect as hydroquinone but without the risks associated with it. It contains ELLAGIC ACID which has been shown to be as effective as 4% hydroquinone in reducing the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation and HYDROXYPHENOXY PROPIONIC ACID a non-toxic derivative of hydroquinone shown in-vivo to be as effective as 2% kojic acid to diminish the appearance of discolourations.
