The best the AGAINSTs can hope for is for govt to determine the costs of the carnage, divide by user volume, and impose a tax.

don't you believe in states' rights? Here in Oregon the people voted to legalize it. Are you saying the Federal government needs to step in? What would Ronald Reagan say?

In any case, anecdotally, my brain seems to be ok (your first point disputed), I haven't busted windows or driven into anything (second point disputed), I might have done some LSD possibly, maybe, but I gave all of that up, including marijuana, shortly after finishing college (point three mostly disputed) and I'm in great health, although I should get back to running (and will when it stops raining!!) so that's your point four disputed and discarded.

I tend to believe you don't know what you're talking about but you've heard someone else say something like what you've given us.

Unfounded assertions like blaming the media for Bush's dismal popularity. Maybe you think everyone should personally observe his actions and make their own judgements?

If you defend garbage like this, it is very telling about the kind of person you are:

Were you reading for comprehension you would see that I am blaming
President George W. Bush. Instead you find the first thing to use
for a snappy comeback. So sad. Here, I'll paste it for the third time.

Being thick-skinned did not help George W. Bush
or help John McCain or help Mitt Romney.
Being thin-skinned is entertaining. It has you
quoting statistics. Hillary Clinton won the
popular vote including all the illegal aliens
who voted.

Being thin-skinned works. So who is thin-skinned and who is not?

Certainly not George W. Bush, who let big news business hammer
him into a dismal 28% approval rating over the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan, the weapons of mass destruction, Abu Ghraib, the
banking crisis, etc.

Certainly not John McCain, who let the liberal media cast him as
an old, out-of-touch, nervous candidate with a nutcase for his VP
running mate.

And certainly not Mitt Romney, who let Candy Crowley and Obama
roll him like a street drunk over Benghazi and the "terrorism"
word in their second Presidential debate, on foreign policy.

Maybe I'm not quite getting your point, I agree about the entertainment value, like watching a train wreck, but the rest of it just comes across (to me) as more media bashing. I apologize if I am misinterpreting your post.

I more or less stopped watching when Bill Elliott stopped driving full-time. I started again when his kid got a ride. but Jeebus the racing--the whole environment--sucks.

You'll never convince NASCAR fans to say "Le Maw".

...I haven't watched an entire race since Earnhart (#3) hit the wall @ Daytona.

This stopping the race is BS ...somebody's idea of "end of the first qtr". Sponsor driven (pun intended) no doubt.

He is The King. My favorite era was when Earnhardt, Waltrip, R. Wallace, Harry Gant, Tim Richmond, Neil Bonnett were tearing it up. I had been a longtime Alabama Gang fan. Then Davey Allison died. Sort of lost my appetite.

Have you seen the story of the 1979 Daytona race? It was the first flag to flag coverage of a NASCAR race. The logistics were daunting to say the least.

I remember watching it. Helluva race.

There are some hosers who print up their own to disguise that
