> Tune ups don't translate into slam wins...we all know that. Sampras/Agassi is the perfect example of that. Despite his clay and HC wins against Agassi, Sampras is 0-3 against him at the AO or FO. Just like all of Agassis HC wins against Sampras didn't mean anything at the USO.
Agassi had only 1 convincing win over Sampras in a slam in his whole
career, & that was FO when Sampras was a teen. The 2 losses at AO were
huge upsets & Sampras had both matches on his racket.
Agassi had as much chance of beating Sampras at a slam as Fed had of
beating Rafa - ie about 1 in 10.

Actually it is all conjecture. The trigger was America breaking its
word, plating NATO in near proximity to Russia(A threatening position).
Then sucking the criminals in the Ukraine into the NATO alliance. We
broke out word. We need Russia as an ally ...Not a foe...A trade
Partner..Not this stupidity of sanctions!

Diversity is not just for domestic tranquility any more! World peace depends on it - in the era of War on Terror and "Pivot to" you-name-it.
acoustic@panix.com (lo yeeOn): Jan 07 01:38AM
Diversity is not just for domestic tranquility any more.
Diversity is also vital for nations' collective survival. It has been
the case that powerful countries on this planet would be always
looking for third world countries to be their protectorates.
The Philippines know all too well about being someone's protectorate.
It has to host its protector's naval bases.
In the old days, the worst things that may happen are rapes and
murders. But these days, the military bases you're hosting may be
used to attack a third country. Thus you're actually opening up
yourself to the danger of counterattacks or even domestic terrorism
which always arises in an asymmetric warfare situation and in which no
hardware for anti-missile defense would ever be effective.
So, for a country like the Philippines, being protected by a country
that is privoting to and creating crisis everywhere is dangerous to
its own survival.
So, Duterte is telling the Chinese and the Russians, "Hey guys, come
on over any time you want. For R&R, refuel, or to be good samaritans,
you name it. We always need a friend or a helpful hand. And it will
help us that we'll all be friends."
Duterte boarded the ship Friday afternoon, where he was welcomed by
the Russian Navy and Ambassador Igor Khovaev.
"We welcome our Russian friends. Anytime you want to dock here for
anything, for play, for replenish supplies or maybe our ally to
protect us," Duterte said as cited by Reuters. He then shook hands
with Rear Admiral Eduard Mikhailov, who heads the Russian Navy's
Pacific Fleet."
Well, good ol' Rodrigo may not speak perfect English like the neocons
in these newsgroups, but Rodrigo is a smart dude. And the neocons who
think that the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 means Uncle Sam
should use all means to ensure that it will remain the sole superpower
on this planet is now obsolete thinking. Countries around the world
have learned a very costly lesson for rolling over in the past 15
years and more.
Just look at Libya, Iraq, and other places where Uncle Sam has rained
his bombs and missiles down: Sights of horror and abomination!
Nobody wants the convulsions seen in those places to be repeated on
their own land.

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte visited the Russian warship
Admiral Tributs, one of two currently docked in Manila. The move is
another sign of warming relations amid the Philippines' spat with
decades-long ally, the US.
Khovaev told a Wednesday news briefing that Moscow is willing to help
Manila advance its military capabilities in the interest of mutual
cooperation and enhancement. He warned that the relationship between
the two partners is their business alone, but downplayed comments that
the Philippines was getting friendlier with Moscow as a tactic to
anger the US.
"I think it's time to get rid of outdated cliche. It's time to get
rid of prejudices. As far I understand the Philippines, there is an
objective need to diversify the range of circle of your foreign
partners," the Russian ambassador said.
"We are talking about diversification. It's a not a choice between
these partners and those. Diversification means reserving, keeping
traditional old partners, and getting new ones."
This is the first meeting of the two navies, and it comes less than a
month after the firebrand Philippines president sent his foreign and
defense ministers to Moscow to discuss arms deals. This came as a US
senator threatened to prevent the sale of 26,000 assault rifles to the
Philippines government.
Duterte, however, has been making deals with China as well, including
one on small arms, as well as a long-term loan and a series of
agreements signed on infrastructure. Beijing even gave Manila fishing
rights to one of its areas in the disputed South China Sea . . .

So wrong. It's simply fun to remind Schamwarufnegger that's he
doing worse than the Donald at the same job.
Why do it? It's politics. Schwarzenegger disobeyed party line by
not endorsing Trump, he actually supported crooked Hillary which
the people reject.

I assume you refer to his request for wall funding?
So what's the problem,there?
You are aware of the fact, that his voters want that "wall"?
So, given the option of not having it or paying for it themselves,
they'll gladly choose paying for it.
Trump asking for funds simply means he's credible. He wants to
start the process. Mexico is going to be forced to participate
somewhat later anyway through tariffs taxes etc.
He's not an ordinary sleazy politician.

Putin Ordered 'Influence Campaign' Aimed at U.S. Election, Report Says
bmoore@nyx.net: Jan 06 02:19PM -0800
http://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/06/us/politics/russia-hack-report.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=a-lede-package-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news
WASHINGTON — American intelligence officials have concluded that Russia's president, Vladimir V. Putin, "ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the U.S. presidential election," and turned from seeking to "denigrate" Hillary Clinton to developing "a clear preference for President-elect Trump."
The conclusions were part of a declassified intelligence report, ordered by President Obama, that was released Friday afternoon. Its main conclusions were described to Donald J. Trump by intelligence officials earlier in the day, and he responded by acknowledging that Russia sought to hack into the Democratic National Committee, but said nothing about the conclusion that Mr. Putin had sought to aid his candidacy, other than that it had no effect on the outcome.
The report, a damning and surprisingly detailed account of Russia's efforts to undermine the American electoral system and Mrs. Clinton in particular, went on to assess that Mr. Putin "aspired to help President-elect Trump's election chances when possible by discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavorably to him."
The report described a broad campaign that included covert operations, including cyberactivities, with "trolling" and "fake news."
In the unclassified version of the report, the intelligence agencies also concluded "with high confidence" that Russia's main military intelligence unit, the G.R.U., created the "persona" called Guccifer 2.0 and a website, DCLeaks.com, to release the emails of the Democratic National Committee and the chairman of the Clinton campaign, John D. Podesta.

"The Russians felt pretty good about what happened" to the US presidential election in 2016! A great intelligence scoop by our spies, eh? Should anyone be surprised? Had Hillary won, ...
acoustic@panix.com (lo yeeOn): Jan 06 08:42PM
[Had Hillary won,] she would have imposed a no-fly regime on Russian
planes over Syria! She has repeatedly promised to do so - and that's
why the New York Times, the Washington Post, the neocons, the bunch
that includes John McCain, love Hillary so much!!!
You think it would make Putin happy to see that his pilots get killed
by our missiles or else let the PNAC extend its tenticles further
against the Russian border?
Would Obama be happy to see that our pilots get killed by anybody's
missiles?
Would Obama be happy to see that the Russians set up shop in Latin
America?
I don't think so!
A leader, by definition, is suppose to defend his country and protect
its assets.
If I were Putin, I would be shaking in my boots worrying about my
future, if Lady Hillary gets elected president - because my days will
be numbered!
So, while we don't know what the Russians have done because our spy
chiefs are really coy people, it is a no-brainer to see that the
Russians "felt pretty happy" with the US presidential election
outcome.
Who wouldn't be happy to see a friend rather than an enemy?
Confucius said so about the same time Socrates was made to drink the
hemlock by his enemies.
So, my friends, it is one's survival instinct that determines one's
happiness, not a multi-billion-dollar group of spy agencies.
Make friends --- not enemies! May that be a part of the Trump-brand
presidency!

http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/313089-trump-after-briefing-hacking-did-not-impact-election-outcome
Cyberattacks by foreign nations absolutely had "no effect on the
outcome of the election", President-elect Donald Trump said in a
statement following a briefing by senior intelligence officials on
their assessment that Russia hacked the Democratic National Committee
(DNC).
While Trump conceded that "Russia, China, other countries, outside
groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber
infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and
organizations including the Democrat National Committee", he stopped
short of confirming that he believes Russia was the perpetrator of the
DNC breach - or that it was an attempt to meddle in the election.
"There were attempts to hack the Republican National Committee, but
the RNC had strong hacking defenses and the hackers were
unsuccessful," Trump said in the statement.

According to CNN, the Washington Post and NBC News, citing
intelligence sources, agencies had intercepted communications
following the election which showed senior Russian government

"The Russians felt pretty good about what happened and they also felt
pretty good about what they did," a senior US official quoted by the
