Job Description:
Apex Systems has an immediate need for a junior to mid-level Software Engineer to join a Fortune 500 Manufacturing client in Milwaukee, WI.
SCOPE:
· Responsible for writing software that communicates with products for the purpose of device firmware verification, firmware updates, order verification, and product configuration.
JOB SUMMARY:
· Under the direction of the Product Validation and Test project leader continue work on the early development of a manufacturing solution using C# in accordance with Rockwell Automation's standards to facilitate firmware verification, firmware updates, order verification, and product configuration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Participates in software architecture strategy development.
· Works with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
· Creates software in C# based upon project requirements.
· Creates C# solutions for reading from and writing to databases.
· Participates in validation and debug of the solution.
· Works with other team members and plant staff to pilot and deploy the solution.
· Communication with devices over Ethernet and USB.
· Use of software versioning tool, Clear Case.
· Comprehensive documentation and code commenting.
· Prompt communication of issues or concerns that could impact the project schedule.
· Procurement and setup of equipment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
· Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology(EET), Computer Science (CS), equivalent education, or experience.
· 2+ years' experience developing and deploying software solutions using C#.
· Experience with electronic hardware communications.
· Experience interfacing with databases from C#.
· SQL scripting experience.
· Excellent software debug, analysis, and problem solving skills.
· Good written and verbal communications in English.
· Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
· Clear Case experience a plus.
TRAVEL
· Some travel is expected, up to 10%.
