Job Description:
The UX Architect is responsible for improving business processes and supporting critical business strategies by bringing a user-centered design approach to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the in-house software tools delivered on mobile devices and on the web. These tools are primarily used to gather client/manage data and submit/manage business by over 100,000 Primerica sales force members in US, Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam. The candidate is responsible for developing personas, site maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, information architecture, mock-ups, and spec sheets. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Interaction Design, Visual Design, or Information Architecture
· Minimum 5 years' experience in user experience design, interface design, interaction design, information architecture, or other related disciplines
· Minimum 3 years' experience designing for mobile devices
· Demonstrated knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and usability principles
· Proven ability to design intuitive and compelling user interfaces as demonstrated through a comprehensive online portfolio
· Experience working in a collaborative software development environment with executives, product managers, business analysts, web designers and programmers to define and implement solutions
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong aptitude for translating requirements into visual concepts
· Ability to communicate usability and visual design principles to all levels of an organization
· Self-starter with a track record of delivering quality work under tight deadlines
· Extraordinary attention to details and craftsmanship
· Working knowledge of Web technologies such as CSS, HTML
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Define and document the information architecture needed to support projects, including: Site map, categories, page templates, content, navigation, page elements, links, callable actions, workflow diagrams, user scenarios, flowcharts, storyboards
· Create wireframes that illustrate site layout, navigation, controls, and workflow prioritization in tools such as Axure, AdobeXD, Sketch, Omnigraffle, and/or Visio
· Develop static and interactive prototypes for evaluation of concepts to business owners or for validation with end-users in Axure and/or AdobeXD
· Lead presentations and reviews of designs with team members and stakeholders
· Work through the iterative review process at both wireframe and final mock-up levels until final agreement is reached on design.
· Collaborate with web designers on UI components, visual elements and standards
· Work with web designers to create final mock-ups according to design standards and including all actionable elements and assets using standard design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator
· Document and maintain design/UI libraries, style guides, and pattern libraries for application assets
· Initiate/maintain consistent team-wide design brainstorming/white-boarding sessions to encourage creativity and idea generation; Develop relevant ideas into concrete design proposals to share with your management chain for future consideration
· Perform field research with end users to understand their working environment and to discover / implement important design details
· Analyze and interpret data into appropriate feedback to share with management chain and translate feedback into concrete user-centered design solutions
· Stay informed on industry trends, web development technology and advancements in the area of User Experience, Information Architecture, Responsive Web Design, and Mobile Design
