"New" bowl qualifying procedure

The NOTBCS Guy <don.p.del.grande@gmail.com>: Jul 03 08:08AM -0700

The NCAA just "clarified" the bowl eligibility rules to say that all "bowl eligible 6-6 teams" must be chosen before any 5-7 teams.

Okay, I'll ask: how is this different from what they did last year? Besides the fact that the 5-7 teams choose their bowl games rather than the games choosing the teams, that is.

>Okay, I'll ask: how is this different from what they did last year? Besides the fact that the 5-7 teams choose their bowl games rather than the games choosing the teams, that is.

What if the 8 supposed top teams played in the Sugar, Orange, Cotton
and Rose Bowls with the 2 winners alternating the 4 bowls for the
trophy.

Then any group can attempt to contract the 2 teams they want to play
in their bowl. They "git 'er done" or they don't in time to televise.

Bowls other than the top 4 are for bragging rights and to make money
by having one more game for losers.

How wrong would that be? The logistics could be worked out and you
need fewer interpretations of "what we REALLY meant".

I totally disagree. There is no way passing out can be interpreted as
an offer of any kind. Ever.

Easy when the activity of one is legal if in poor judgment while the
activity of the other is illegal.

No, we don't. It is long past time we start treating sports figures

Speaking of Caesar's and Mandalay Bay, they both have Watson as the 4-1 favorite at the moment.

Note to Mia: the best odds on Alabama winning the CFP championship are 13-2, and you can get +120 on Alabama going 11-1 or better in the regular season (or -140 on 9-3 or worse...that doesn't sound right, but that's what it says on the form)

Conspiracy long-play political memothot

plaidmoon@gmail.com: Jul 02 10:23PM -0700

I know someone who worked for the State Department some years ago and they told me one time that the State Department email server was so unreliable that many of the staff were using free email accounts like hotmail to conduct business. At least they did until they were told it was not secure and to cut it out. I'm not sure if the State Dept. email server has been straighten out, but if not, Clinton may have decided to use the Clinton Foundation email server because it worked. That's probably not a reason she would want to admit to though. Before we get all partisan, I'll mention that my friend worked in the State Department during the Bush years and was long gone before Obama took office.

The funniest thing is the implicit assumption that
highly-classified information was transmitted
over public network email (which includes state.us.gov
addresses as well as clintonemail.)

Hell, I've worked in the private sector where any
highly confidential information was transmitted
only over the internal network and emails that
needed to be sent concerning it would only include
the (non-confidential) summary and a reference to
the reports location on the internal, secure network.

Some dued <theodoreward@gmail.com>: Jul 03 04:24AM -0700

Until Snowdon, most if not all major email servers exchanged email unencrypted so unless govt employees were ahead of the curve or using pgp or something equivalent on their clients it would have been an inappropriate medium for classified discussions.
Even with encryption its kind of like sending classified communication via the postal service since there is no way to really know who is reading it on the other side.

Keep in mind that Lynch did not disclose this meeting and her security people ordered no pictures were to be taken. A reporter for a local TV station found out about the meeting and broke the story.

This was "soft intimidation" by Slick Willie. Remember he is the one who gave Lynch her first big
career break.

Two days after the meeting Lynch's "Justice" Department asked for a 23 month delay in Hillary's
investigation. Well after the Presidential election. Same way Obama ordered the Beau Bergdal
trial moved back until after the election.

> Apparently the FBI is pissed about this - esp since Bill might have been a material witness.

Yeah, if you are an honest FBI agent who has spent a year working on this criminal investigation
you'd be pissed off too if Obama's AG and the defendant's husband just wiped out your
credibility. Also, Slick Willie is not only a potential witness, he will also be a defendant if any
one ever grows the balls to investigate the massive fraud, bribery and corruption in
the Clinton foundation.

> What if......this meeting was a deliberate attempt by Obama to sabotage Hillary?

Slick Willie delayed his flight, sat on his plane and waited for Lynch's plane to land. This was
just sleazy, scummy Clinton business as usual.

> Remember, there's no love lost between the two factions dating back to at least the 2008 race.

Obama doesn't like Hillary (hell, who does?) but she has promised to carry on Obama's disastrous
policies to preserve his "legacy". In return Obama has promised to campaign for her and help
turn out the black vote.

> And something like this could lead to a massive leakfest from the FBI/DOJ

Leak what? Hillary has already been caught in more lies than you can count - not to mention
destroying 30,000+ e-mails on her private unsecured server.

> Or maybe I'm just really bored on a very slow Friday

No accident that the FBI interviewed Hillary over the 4th of July weekend when most Americans are
cooking on the grill and celebrating the holiday.

Bottom-line the fix is in for Hillary and has been from the beginning. And it just proves what we've
known for years. The laws what apply to we common folk bot not apply to the Clintons.
