I can accept their craziness. What I can't accept is blind stupidity. They still actually think the GOP has a chance in hell of winning.

If HC is the candidate, they do.

No thanks to you. I doubt my relatives from WW2 would be so cavalier in their statements. You know - guys who were actually in a war. Why don't you go sodomize an eagle scout again?

Nope. Bet on it. It's the most likely outcome (HC vs. whoever with HC winning). I won't bet on it, but I think it's a lock. Betting on elections is something only a total MORON would do. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't bet either, outside of the once or twice a year lottery ticket.
I had to put up with too much BS earning my money.

USPS Hours

"the_andrew_smith@yahoo.com" <agavinsmith@gmail.com>: Dec 21 02:01PM -0800

While the Prime boxes pile up in my garage...

Out playing with all the kids on the street and the USPS guy comes down our street 4 times in less than 1.5 hours.

He wasn't on his way elsewhere because our street doesn't go anywhere. He delivered packages to homes the first three trips and the mail the fourth.

All the kids were talking junk. All I could think was how does the USPS not have route planning and loading capabilities to handle this?

Sounds like with the holiday crunch, they're just winging it.

Saw 2 more out on our road yesterday (Sunday).
This time, it wasn't a regular carrier.

UPS -- same driver -- dropped off twice within 15 mins last week.

I leave it to those responsible to establish that. I can only draw
tentative conclusions on what I read.

>And the more he opens his mouth and lies to everybody, the more I fall in the camp of John Dowd in that I believe he did, at some point, throw games.

I can't imagine anything short of danger to family or self that would
cause a real competitor to even lose a game of jacks to his 6 year old
daughter.

>At that point, whether as a manager or player, strike him from the record books, though your comment on Bonds' records coming from an illegal method are quite correct.

The hit record was legally established on the field. It will cease to
be the record only when someone beats it.

my impression of Rose is that he would never have thrown a game by making an out. He wanted hits, as many as he could get and nothing would stop him from trying. Fielding, on the other hand....

As do I -- but those responsible (John Dowd) believe he has. The only problem is the evidence is not out to support that -- YET.

As much debt as Pete was in at some points, I would consider that a very real possibility.

I no longer am certain of that first statement, but that you say it is not the problem.

Note they did this at a game the Patriots were favored to win by two touchdowns.

The newest stupid Christmas controversy

xyzzy wrote:

> Sheesh. I'm totally not religious. But without Linus' speech it's not A Charlie Brown Christmas.

I don't know what surprises me more - that the school was allowed to still call it "A Charlie Brown Christmas", or that the superintendent kept calling it a "Christmas" play. I can't remember the last time I saw a public school calling the Christmas break anything other than a "winter" break (and yes, the week off before or after Easter, depending on the district, is called "spring vacation").

They should have implemented the "ban" into the show - like this:
Linus: Lights, please...And-
offstage: Waaaa Waa, wa wa Waa Waa waa
Linus: Excuse me? We can't include the Bible verse?
offstage: Waa wa wa Waa wa
Linus: Pardon me for asking, but why bother even calling it "A Charlie Brown Christmas" if you can't mention the reason Christmas exists in the first place?
