Michigan vs Michigan State!! WOW!
Irish Ranger <ace317@att.net>: Oct 17 06:11PM -0700
Michigan 23, Michigan State 21, 4th quarter, 4th down, Michigan's ball, 10 seconds left on the clock.
Michigan back to punt, fumble on the snap, Michigan State recovers and runs it in for the score.
Final Michigan State 27, Michigan 23. That school up North loses!
Until this game my favorite college football play was when Alabama missed a field goal attempt at the end of the Iron Skillet game and Auburn ran it back for the winning score. But seeing that school up North lose is even sweeter than seeing the Crimson shit-kickers go down the toilet.
J. Hugh, you are now officially off the hook!

That was a messed up play

Guy spent his entire life playing a sport where falling on the ball there is the one thing you would never do. Have to think that played a role.
Ironically, it'd be pretty easy to argue that special teams were the one edge that had michigan leading up to that point.
Sparty won that game leading for zero seconds of the game. I'm sure it's been done before but not often.

You'd think they would have drill for the punter on what to do if they
fumble the snap - I bet there will be, at least for Blake O'Neill. I'm
glad the Spartans won, but I truly feel sorry for O'Neill.
dotslashderek@gmail.com: Oct 17 07:20PM -0700
I'm sure it'll be covered frequently going forward, ken!
I can tell you that the chatter after the game was very much in line with "wow, that was terrible, but..."
And the but there is that he's been amazing. Did you see that 80 yard punt (his first of the game)? He routinely pins teams inside their 10 - just in general has been a huge upgrade.
There was certainly that initial shock after the play. But I think it's fair to say these were two pretty closely matched teams that would likely each win 40 plus times if they played 100.
I agree with what you attributed to harbaugh earlier, fwiw... this isn't my dad's msu. Dantonio has really built something there in east lansing, and I won't even spoil this by asking wtf you would build anything in east lansing, oops, lol.

GO GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dotslashderek@gmail.com: Oct 17 06:25PM -0700
Was a great atmosphere and a great game between two good teams.
I know your qb didn't have a great day completion wise (his wrs didn't help him at times) but man can he fit the ball into a small space. By far the best qb I've seen michigan play against this year.
Figured you guys would load the box and force us to throw down the field... that's gonna be the secret sauce against Michigan's offense all year.
Had a couple issues with coaching... at the end of the first half with about 100 seconds left on 3rd and 6 on sparty 40 we throw... don't get that, if they run even if they don't make the first they can let the clock wind and go for it on fourth. Instead they punt... really felt like they left points there.
And I shit you not sitting in the stands I told my dad they shouldn't be punting there at the end. Just so many ways a punt can result in bad things... I was picturing the old snap over the head bu r even if you get it off it gives the other team a chance at a return. My suggestion, from that field position, with 10 seconds left and no msu timeouts is just go for the 4th and 2 and run it.
Anyhow... was a great game, think it sort of normalized expectations... this was coming at some point for michigan anyways, Rome wasn't built in a day and msu is a strong opponent. Thought it was pretty odd how many of my friends and family were basically assuming michigan was gonna win.

Jim Harbaugh impressed me when he said (earlier this week) that there's
room for 2 elite programs in the state.
It was a great game. It proved that you have to play and finish the
whole game. I think that a lot of the Wolverine players thought the game
was won and they lost their focus and intensity. Both teams made
mistakes. U of M made the last one.

we're going to have a little quiz.
You lead by 2 points with seconds to go in the game
4th and 2 at midfield. Do you
A) Put the ball in the hands of your best men, the starting offense?
Z) Put the ball in the hands of the flakes aka special teams?
(special as in special olympics)

Why not do a ladder of CDs? 1 mo, 3 mo, 6mo, 9 mo, 1yr at $20,000 each.
As they mature, reinvest at the longest (1 yr) maturity. I don't know
much about the online CDs, but they can be quite a bit higher in yields.

B/c you're not making any money - and still have the issue of withdrawl penalties.
To get 2%, btw - you need to go over 3 years. The 3 month cds are paying 0.55% - that's $550 return on $100,000 - or less than $50/month
95% of people are faaaaaar better off paying down bills of some sorts - be they student loans, mortgages, credit cards, what have you. Not paying interest charges is a guaranteed return on your money far higher than most will make anywhere else.

You are correct. It did split during Oct 2000 and was already dropping
prior to the split when it was about $50/sh. Got down to about $11
during her reign. Not sure what it was when she left, looks like about
$20 or so. So that is a drop of 60%.

Nope - it did not go down to 11 - not sure it went below 19
And the split occurred at roughly 90ish - post peak
Let's not forget that it ran up a bit after she joined too - before the entire tech sector imploded.
Lots of areas to criticize her and her performance at HP - this is by FAR the weakest - especially since the author gets basic and material facts deceptively wrong

Hugh, were your dumbass children simply too dumb assed to go to college or did you just not have the means to send them?
Alternatively, they figured four years was about right to suss enough to get them Microsoft certificates you're always bragging on which I understand literally have an earning potential measured in thousands of dollars per year?
Don't start a %#!$ing academic dick measuring contest with me you old fool. It won't go well for you and it'll just make me look like a small petty braggert.

Actually, I have bought mostly HP printers over the past 20 years and
they have been pretty good. I have an old HP PSC750 that was purchased
12-13 years ago and it still works well. Got an OfficeJet Pro wireless
8615 (PSC w/fax) about 20 months ago for about $110 and have yet to
change the ink cartridges. It is somewhat slow, but adequate for our
needs. Ink cost seems OK.

Have you ever read American Rifleman? The focus of AR is more the
technical aspects of firearms. America's 1st Freedom's focus is the
political and American Hunter covers hunting. AR and AH do have some
political articles, but not as in depth as AFF.
