Forget Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome. This is RG quarter finals and Rafa is ready to meet Djoker. Can't wait for it to start.

I expect Rafa to start explosively. Will he be able to keep it up? Very fascinating contest appears to be on the cards.

not sure of the scoreline, but the matchup assessment is very true.

Excuses excuses excuses. Bob, will you stop it please? Court_1 appears to be right and Rafa is not tired and will not fatigue at RG. He will give it his best and possibly beat the Djoker.

Rafael Nadal and the $775,000 Watch -- WSJ

Athletes don't seem to understand that they demean their sport and
themselves by wearing jewelry. No matter how slight, it is added weight
and bulk that affects their performance.

Was on the french news days ago, obnoxious.
That watch isn't really his, wich might be even more obnoxious.

I wonder if anyone has told Djokovic, "Aim for the watch!"

>Borg said he skipped the AO because it came during his vacation, and he felt being rested and mentally hungry was more important. He also said that he wanted to be known as the greatest, and to do so you had to win the biggest tournaments, the slams.
that's why he skipped AO - cause it came on his vacation yet he was in
"slam counting mode"? my oh my.
>> surprising?
>Not surprising at all, since my position is based on actual evidence.
>Note, again, that Sports Illustrated was talking about the slam chase in 1981; showing that I actually have evidence supporting my POV.
it's a little bit of chicken egg and of course everyone wanted to win
slams. but skipping AO and mac/connors skipping or going ill prepared
for FO doesn't go along with "slam counting." "slam counting" is
shooting to get as many slams as possible, no matter which ones, and
shooting for a # to break a record. sampras started this after he had
about 10. nobody before him was in that mode.

Nadal clear favourite by any rational measure
jamesrichardtaylor@gmail.com: Jun 03 05:22AM -0700
I hope Djokovic wins as im tired of the procession one man has made the 2nd Major into for the past decade. But its laughable to underestimate the facts that Serb has to overcome
French Open titles:
Nadal - 9
Djokovic - 0
Head to head at French Open
Nadal 6
Djokovic - 0
Nadal leads 18-4 in sets
Therefore by any objective measure Nadal is the clear favourite, particularly if the conditions are dry and warm.
Citing results from other tournaments, played on different surfaces in different conditions is just silly Fedfuckery, of which irrational hatred and downplaying of Nadal is a key component.

I just don't get why Nadal's team has been saying the opposite during the entire last decade, and still is.
Yes, at the French Open Nadal has been huger (and huger) favorite ever since he got his second (hence more than any active player by that time).

Edberg lost to Ivanisevic in QF of 92 Wimbledon over 5 sets.

Federer got crushed by Henman in his next match after beating Sampras,
