TV5 is leaving no stone unturned in beefing up its programing to somehow improve its status as the third leading television network in the country. This month, the Kapatid network is slated to launch a total of eight shows for its weekend late afternoon-primetime blocks.

The Kapatid network’s new shows include Showbiz Police (showbiz talk show hosted by Raymond Gutierrez, Joey Reyes, Lucy Torres-Gomez and Cristy Fermin), Tropa Mo Ko Unli (gag show headlined by Ogie Alcasid and Gelli de Belen), Killer Karaoke (game show with Michael V) and What’s Up Doods (comedy talk show with Edu Manzano) which will all premiere on September 14.

Pinoy Explorer (travel show hosted by Aga Muhlach), Wow, Mali Pa Rin! (prank show with Joey de Leon), Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (game show hosted by Vic Sotto) and The Mega and the Songwriter  (musical show headlined by Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid) will be launched the following day, September 15.

However, two of the network’s prized talents, Ryan Agoncillo and Amy Perez, are said to be very unhappy with the way they are being treated by their home network. Agoncillo previously expressed disappointment over the management’s decision to axe his top-rating talent show, Talentadong Pinoy, which aired its final edition on August 18.

“The decision of management to cancel our show sucks,” the TV host-actor, whose contract with the network ended in January, told the press. “I don’t agree with it. Pero wala akong magagawa… This is the end of an era. We have proven that little people can slay giants,” he added, refering to the show’s satisfactory performance in the ratings game.

The network reportedly offered Agoncillo a new daily primetime game show but Judy Ann Santos’ husband seemed to be uninterested. In an article, Agoncillo’s manager, Noel Ferrer, expressed disappointment over the network’s treatment of his ward.

“Pasintabi lang pero masasabi naming medyo naging PABAYA at kampante ang network (TV5) sa pagtrato nila kay Ryan,” Ferrer wrote.

In a recent report, Ferrer is said to be cooking up something for Ryan with the Kapuso network. Agoncillo is currently a co-host of the noontime variety program Eat Bulaga on GMA.

Another disappointed Kapatid star is Amy Perez who reportedly declined to headline the upcoming show, Face The People, a spin-off of her popular reality tabloid talk show Face to Face. Perez was supposed to co-host the new show with Gelli de Belen, who pinch-hitted for her in Face to Face when she took a maternity leave in 2012.

In July, Perez resigned from Face to Face due to issues between her and some of the program’s staff. She was set to work on the new show Face the People with de Belen but changed her mind after learning that the same staff she has a dispute with were also part of the show. Christine Bersola is reportedly being eyed to replace Perez on Face the People.

Perez remains a co-host of the network’s morning show, Good Morning Club, and was heard to have said: “I wish I can fly away and stay happy and peaceful with the ones I love and those who love me,” during her birthday celebration on the show on September 5. She also recently appeared in the Palibhasa Lalake reunion episode on Gandang Gabi Vice aired on ABS-CBN last Sunday.
