The first day of the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival was a huge success, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), organizers of the annual film fest. The eight official film fest entries opened in all theaters nationwide on Christmas Day, December, 25, and will run until the first week of January 2014.

Organizers have yet to release the official first day figures but has already tweeted the rankings of the first day top grossers. According to a tweet from the official Twitter account of MMFF 2013 (@mmfilmfest), My Little Bossings, starring Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, Ryzza Mae Dizon, and James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap was the most watched-film during the festival’s opening day based on box-office results. The film marks Bimby Yap-Aquino’s first big screen debut.

On the second spot is Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy where comedian Vice Ganda played a quadruplets with different genders. Cast includes Maricel Soriano, Joey Marquez, Ruffa Guttierrez and Cristibe Reyes.

Horror flick, Pagpag: Syam na Buhay, starring  Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, holds the third spot. The film, which also stars Paulo Avelino, Shaina Magdayao, Matet de Leon, and Miles Ocampo, tackles Filipino superstitious beliefs about attending wakes.

Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel, the third and reportedly the final installment of the comedy franchise, lands on the fourth spot. As the title title suggests, the film is set before the events of the previous two Kimmy Dora films. Eugene Domingo reprises the roles of twin sisters Kimmy and Dora.
