With kids going back to school in the next couple weeks, Carmel Valley families are trying to squeeze out the last bit of summer fun! What better way to do that than a Summer Movie night at the Carmel Valley Farmers Market at Canyon Crest Academy.
Great food, great music and an all-time classic movie… Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory …it just doesn’t get any better! Walking around the market today it looks like we have some awesome fresh and local food choices – there’s lasagna from Pasta Design, and they offer a variety of fillings, and then there’s CRABCAKES 911 TO THE RESCUE and their unbelievably good homemade tarter sauce! If you don’t know their story they are an East Coast based food truck that was commissioned to serve first responders at Ground Zero under previous owners (hence the name!) The current food truck serves our great community, and they donate a percentage of profits to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation.
One of the things that sets the Carmel Valley Farmers Market apart from other events is the participation from local musicians. Today we’ve got Israel Maldonado performing – he’s a classically trained Spanish guitarist…so we get a little flamenco, some latin rhythms, and even a little Brazilian too.
All the great food and music is the warm up act, but when the sun goes down it’s time to grab a spot on the lawn and enjoy Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on the big screen. While summer will be winding down the Farmer’s Market will continue to be a mainstay of the Pacific Highlands Ranch community all year long.

Jim and his wife Jo, have lived in Carmel Valley since 1987 and first got into the real estate business in 1992 after a successful career in the construction industry in South Africa. Kevin Dalzell joined the Dalzell Group Real Estate team in 2002 after playing professional rugby in Europe (represented the U.S. in two Rugby World Cups) and is now living with his wife, Nina, in Solana Beach. Amber Worsham recently joined the team as the new Marketing Manager & Transaction Coordinator.
