A company that manages golf courses around the world has been selected to manage Bookcliff Country Club in Grand Junction.

Troon Privé was picked after a five-month long review of club management companies, said Cathie Zarlingo, president of Bookcliff Country Club. “The company brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the club and will undoubtedly help us enhance our member experience and grow our membership base,” Zarlingo said.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Troon ranks among the largest golf management companies in the world with more than 250 courses in its portfolio.

Troon oversees operations at Troon Golf, Honours Golf and Troon Privé properties located in 38 states and 31 countries. Troon-managed properties include 75 golf courses that have received top 100 rankings by national and international publications.

In Colorado, Troon manages the Club at Cordillera in Edwards, the Club at Crested Butte, Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club in Steamboat Springs and the Ridge in Castle Pines.

“Bookcliff is a terrific family club with outstanding facilities and member programming,” said Jim McLaughlin, senior vice president of Troon Privé. “Our team will look to raise the service levels, identify ways to improve the food and beverage operations and ultimately recruit new members to this exceptional club.”

Zarlingo said one advantage of Troon management to club members is immediate.  “Our gold members now have reciprocal access to other exclusive clubs in the Troon Privé portfolio,” she said. “That means our members can play at some of the world’s most prestigious private clubs, paying only the host club’s cart fee. Gold members are also entitled to bring up to three guests who can play for the host club’s accompanied rate. Plus, they can enjoy preferred rates of up to 50 percent off Troon-managed resorts and daily fee clubs.”

Established in 1958, Bookcliff Country Club features an 18-hole Dick Phelps-designed golf course, five tennis courts, a heated swimming pool complex, spa and massage services, fitness facility and renovated clubhouse with casual and fine dining. Bookcliff Country Club also offers a variety of family oriented programs and activities

“Many of our members consider Bookcliff Country Club their family sanctuary,” Zarlingo said. “The depth of our club’s amenities combined with our first-class golf course and fun-loving atmosphere truly offer our members a unique social experience. We look forward to working with Troon to further enrich this experience and extend it to a new generation of members.”
