We identify the Jon Snow, Ramsay Bolton and Samwell Tarly of Old Trafford

Those who haven’t seen the show or are currently watching it should stay away from this article to avoid spoilers.

We know our audience here at The Busby Babe. We read your comments, likes and dislikes, whether it’s about Wayne Rooney’s apocalyptic decline, Marouane Fellaini’s mighty elbows, the fact that José Mourinho is obviously past and should retire from football forever and ever, and, of course, that Marcus Rashford should not play as a winger. And obviously a lot more-this is what makes this site so great.

But there’s always need to have a little fun outside of the usual football talk, right? No? Well, we’ll do it anyway!

Since we know we have a lot of Game of Thrones fans around here, we decide to compare some United players to the characters of said series. You’re welcome to participate, by all means. We want to know who you think is a Lannister, who is a Stark and if winter is coming. Fun!

Let’s start, shall we?

Wayne Rooney: Jaime Lannister. Once was a great warrior/footballer that inspired many but he lost his hand/stopped taking care of himself. Besides, the loyalty of both men has been debated non-stop.

Antonio Valencia: Davos Seaworth, obviously. Man of humble starts, perhaps not the greatest warrior/footballer but not too shabby at that, either. Always committed to the cause and willing to do his best.

Anthony Martial: Eddard Stark. Remember how cool he was that first season?

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Gendry. We thought he was going to have a major role in the series/season, but we saw very little of him at the start and nothing as we speak.

Ander Herrera: Brienne of Tarth. Loyal, a total warrior and a bit crazy to scare you.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: the Queen of Thorns. Perhaps a tad old, but still capable of kicking ass.

Phil Jones: Podrick Payne. To be fair, we know he means well (both of them).

Juan Mata: Samwell Tarly. How can you not love this guy?

David De Gea: Jon Snow. Went from being a bastard/irregular keeper to the King in the North/arguably the best goalkeeper in the world.

Michael Carrick: Varys. Not much to look at and very easy to undermine, but his view and influence on the season/series is vital. We don’t how Carrick is down there, but you get the picture.

Luke Shaw: Bran Stark. Never the same after his injury, but trying to figure out his new destiny.

Marouane Fellaini: Ramsay Bolton. The character/player everyone loves to hate.

Marcus Rashford: Lyanna Mormont. A young presence that appeared out of nowhere to amaze everyone and quite mature despite his/her age.

Eric Bailly: Sandor "the Hound" Clegane. You don’t want to mess with this guy.

Daley Blind: Tyrion Lannister. Not the most physical presence as a warrior/footballer, but he compensates with his intelligence and ability to see what others cannot.

Paul Pogba: Daenerys Targaryen. So many expectations, will he/she achieve them?

Ashley Young: Benjen Stark. Yeah, we totally forgot about him.

Matteo Darmian: Sansa Stark. We thought she/he was not going to do anything useful, but she/he is starting to improve.

Memphis Depay: Robb Stark. He was supposed to be the new king, but he lost his north.

Marcos Rojo: Joffrey Lannister. See Marouane Fellaini/Ramsay Bolton.

Morgan Schneiderlin: Rickon? We’re not too sure on this one.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: Jorah Mormont. Easy: old warrior/footballer being exiled. And they’re both blond.

Jesse Lingard: Hodor. A bit clumsy and not classy at all, but you cannot deny his heart and commitment. HOLD THE DOOR!!!

Sergio Romero: Grey Worm?

Agree? Disagree? Have a say here!
