Kudos is the award winning production company behind The Hour, Utopia and Broadchurch. Since its inception in 1992 it has grown to become the UK’s most successful and original producer of popular quality scripted television. Committed to supporting and nurturing new and emerging talent through its work with the Bush Theatre, Kudos is also thrilled to be supporting the BushÂ’s literary programme for a second year and allowing the theatre to expand and develop its respected talent development programme.

The Bush Theatre is a world-famous home for new plays and an internationally renowned champion of playwrights. The theatre discovers, nurtures and produces the best new playwrights from the widest range of backgrounds, and present their work to the highest possible standards. They look for exciting new voices that tell contemporary stories with wit, style and passion and champion work that is both provocative and entertaining.

The participants of the Kudos/ Bush Initiative 2012 included Julius Amedume, Malcolm McGonigle, Luke Barnes, Thom Fell, Steve Searle, Evan Placey, Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan, Vickie Donoghue, Lou Ramsden, Freddy Syborn and Prasanna Puwanarajah.

In October 2012 Kudos and The Bush ran their first Kudos/ Bush Initiative as part of a new relationship between the two companies. Last year they challenged eleven writers to think about the ways in which they told stories. Then asked them, in groups, to write a pitch for an online scripted drama. Four ideas came out of that session, one of which is being actively pitched for television and two of which were made into pilots to be posted online.
