If the lead up to the Upasana – Ram Charan marriage was so glamorous, then you can imagine what the wedding itself would have been like, right? Neither family left any stone unturned in ensuring that the wedding was perfect to the very last dot. In fact, there were not one, but two weddings that the couple hosted. On June 14, 2011, the couple hosted a wedding function especially for their families and close friends. On the next day (June 15) at the same venue, there is another wedding planned, followed by a lunch for all of Ram Charan’s fans.

The guest list for both weddings and the reception included crossed the fourteen thousand mark. In addition to this, they are also planning to feed around three thousand underprivileged people as part of their wedding celebrations.

The ceremony took place at the Temple Tree Farms at Gandipet, which is owned by Upasana’s parents. The wedding preparations began at Domakonda Fort. The special mandap was designed by the art director Anand Sai, and was designed to resemble the Domankonda Fort, the ancestral home of the Kamineni family. And the theme for their grand wedding was “Shiva-Parvati”, a theme truly befitting the event! Local craftsmen from Moradabad and Firozabad worked hard to set up the whole decor that was replete with a statue of Nandi and a lotus-shaped hand blown glass at the mandap. In addition, artists from all over the country will be working on the floral arrangements and the table decorations for the wedding. And the setting was resplendent indeed, with intricate flower nests that hung about.

Both the bride and the groom made their grand entrance walking under a canopy made of exquisite jasmine and roses. Upasana was dressed specially for the occasion by the noted designer, Tarun Tahliani. Tahliani, who also happens to be a family friend also designed the groom’s dhoti and kurta that was made from Upada silk, as is the tradition. Ram Charan looked handsome enough to steal anyone’s breath away in his cream kurta that was embroidered with chikan work and a stole. Upasana looked stunning in her yellow and goldensouth Indian silksaree, with a Swarovski encrusted border. This saree perfectly complemented her rani pink zardosi corset blouse. Her jewellery was exquisite as well, with a lovely diamond encrusted choker and the necklaces that gracefully adorned her neck. Her hair was beautifully adorned with a jewelled chain and a matha patti. Both the bride and the groom wore the “baasikam” which is supposed to ward off the evil eye during the ceremony. The couple looked excited and very much in love as Ram Charan tied the mangal sutra around Upasana’s neck.

But it was not yet time to rest for the happy couple. Another wedding was held at the same venue on the next day, which was followed by a grand lunch for all of Ram Charan’s and Chiranjeevi’s fans. In fact, Ram Charan has said that he considers his fans to be a part of his extended family and has no problems hosting a lunch for them.

A lot of big names were present for the grand Upasana – Ram Charan marriage, as we would expect. It was attended by not just Tollywood stars, but also major political leaders and Bollywood stars as well. Some of the most prominent guests who were in attendance for the big event included Superstar Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Reitesh Deshmukh, Genelia, Lara Dutta, Mahesh Bhupati, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Pavan Kalyan, NTR, Allu Arjun, Kamal Hassan, and Mohanlal, to name just a few.

Prabhu Deva, Kajal Agarwal, naga Chaitanya, Nagarjuna, Akhil Akkineni, and Tabu were just some of the numerous celebrities who shared in the newlywed’s joy. The wedding reception was held at the Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad, and the decor looked very regal with the bright blue lighting and the floral arrangements.

The happy couple then made a visit to the Tirupati temple to seek the blessings of the Gods. They then took off for a short four day long honeymoon to the Vatican City. After that, it was work as usual for Ram Charan and Upasana, as they returned to their busy schedules.
