KUCHING: English Language School (ELS) registered another excellent achievement when 25 of its students scored 100 per cent passing rate in the Cambridge English Examination (CEE) in December.

In congratulating all candidates who had done ELS proud in the examination, ELS principal and director Rebecca Lee Su Ping said the students had scored either distinction or credit in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

“These students have not only earned themselves an internationally recognised certificate — a proof of their English language proficiency worldwide — but also gained tremendous confidence in using the language accurately and effectively,” she said during the certificate presentation at ELS Green Heights centre yesterday.

“Their success has shown that the standard of English classes across streams (standard, premier and international) is very high, and that our constant upgrading of the learning materials and teachers’ teaching approaches has greatly benefited our students.

“This year, we would like to encourage more students to take Cambridge English Exams such as Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET), First Certificate In English (FCE), Certificate In Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate Of Proficiency In English (CPE),” added Rebecca.

She said the students were from the KET, PET and Mover programmes and, to prepare for CEE, they had to attend nine sessions of training given by herself and trainer Lesley White from England.

Rebecca said CEE would be held this year at their centre between November and mid-December, and it was their goal to bring more ELS students to be on par with the international standard.

Those wishing to enroll their children for the upcoming CEE as well as the Cambridge Placement Test in July and the three-month intensive Cambridge Examination Preparation Class (September-November) can contact ELS at 013-8169696.
