We are delighted to announce that our school garden has grown out of its old boundaries to include a magnificent brand new greenhouse…decked with bunting of a horticultural theme! Our heartfelt thanks to Mr Mobasher and Hartley Botanic for their amazing generosity in giving us such a state of the art model. We are sure that the produce grown inside it will be worthy of any Chelsea Flower Show!
A special thank you to Mr Johnson and the Grounds Team, Mr Gladwin and Palmer and Howells, The Friends and Mr Bailey for their help in making this project such a success …thus far! (Oh yes! there’s more to come!) Thank you too, Lily, for being our honoured dignitary and cutting the opening ribbon.
“The Hanging Gardens of Blue Coat” will continue to thrive under the expert leadership of Head Gardener Mr Isherwood, ably assisted by Mrs Walker and the many “Under Gardeners” from throughout the school. We trust and pray that our school garden will be a place where friendship, teamwork and Godly fruits such as kindness, patience and goodness grow.
In closing, let me quote that well known and well-loved gardener, Mr Ish;
”Let’s all MUCK IN and GET OUR HANDS DIRTY!…….of course don’t forget to wash them later!”
Thank you, Mr Isherwood, for pioneering our school garden. We look forward to Harvest time next year!
