A few weeks ago, our girl turned FIVE! Time sure does fly! I wrote about our experience at the American Girl Store a few weeks ago and shared our girl’s excitement into venturing into the wonderful world of AG. BUT… we also had the privilege of having Robin Winningham of It’s an Art Party! in Charlotte join us for some fun too.

My daughter invited her favorite girlfriends to join us for a few different art projects that Robin and I discussed and decided on several weeks prior to the party. Robin, being a mom herself  can really relate to proper art projects for kids of different ages and offers several different options fit for many different ages. We opted for a fun chalk activity along with a stained glass art watercolor painting.. the girls all being right around the five year mark, these were perfect options to keep them entertained and also able to be independent with little help on their projects.

My favorite part of this party with Robin was everything was so simple! I tend to go overboard for parties, but now that at least two of my kids are starting to get a little bigger, I’m learning simple is best and this was so easy peasy! Robin brought everything with her.. right down to the plastic tablecloths for easy clean up. It took her just a few minutes to set up then the girls were off starting on their projects!

Here are my few tips for booking an art party with Robin and making your party planning process super easy and stress free!

Head to her website and check out what she has to offer. There are so many options and she’s happy to chat with you and customize if you have other ideas as well!

Send her an email to chat about booking a party, let her know what you have in mind and what stuck out to you on her website.

Go simple with food. I served pizza that I cut up into bite sized pieces for the girls to eat in between projects. It was less messy and super simple. Then I put together little paint palettes of cupcakes with different colored sprinkles for decorating the girls all decorated and devoured after the painting was done, which gave the projects time to dry before going home!

Seriously guys.. that’s IT! Robin cleaned up while the girls ate their cupcakes and they all eagerly showed off their masterpieces as their parents picked them up. It was my easiest party yet and honestly? The most fun! Not just for the girls, but for me too, because I was able to really savor and enjoy the moments rather than running around making sure kids were happy, fed, and adults entertained. Simple is KEY! Repeat it with me.. Simple is KEY!

Thank you so much Robin for helping us celebrate our girl! If you live in the Charlotte area and want a fun and unique way to celebrate your kids birthday, talk to Robin – – I promise if you take my easy tips above, it will be the easiest party you’ve ever hosted! Oh – and she also does Art Tutoring Lessons too!
