Responsible for leading the world’s best Cardiac Rhythm Management team at Medtronic (MDT) seemed like the top of a great career and yet the vast numbers of people that suffer and often die, still undiagnosed, meant something needed to change! This realisation provided the catalyst for the move to AliveCor, a start-up based in San Francisco that promised to put everyone’s health at their fingertips. To be part of this revolution, empowering people to take control of their long-term conditions, and to assist diagnosis of those in fear of their lives, proved to be a compelling vision.
