Hotel Dubrovnik is the perfect choice of hotel for visitors to Zagreb. It is ideally located on Ban Jelačić Square, the main city square in the heart of Zagreb and is only moments from the main attractions in the city! Hotel Dubrovnik has been serving guests to Zagreb for over eighty years and has truly perfected the art of superior service, elegance and extreme comfort! We only had one night in Zagreb as we travelled between Lake Bled in Slovenia and Split in Croatia but were so happy with our choice to stay at beautiful Hotel Dubrovnik which we truly think is the best hotel in all of Zagreb.
The hotel was built and opened in 1929 and has been the centre of life and a favourite place for visitors who appreciate quality in Zagreb ever since! Over the years it has undergone a number of expansions and changes and one of the main characteristics of Hotel Dubrovnik is their continuous improvement of services in order to meet guests needs and ensure they feel as comfortable as possible! Recently the hotel was renovated and redecorated to include 34 new, modern, luxurious rooms and 8 luxurious suites!
Hotel Dubrovnik is ideally located in the main square of Zagreb, Ban Jelačić Square and is a perfect choice for both business and tourist guests alike! The hotel is only a moments from the main city attractions, significant cultural and business institutions, restaurants, bars and shops and other interesting locations in Zagreb! Zagreb is very well connected by public transport, with the main tram line located right out the front of the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel is also only half a km from Zagreb Central Station, 1km from the main bus station and 18km from Zagreb Airport. We found Zagreb to be an easy and safe city to walk around throughout our stay.
Hotel Dubrovnik has 214 rooms and 8 suites located across six floors. We stayed in one of the recently renovated, deluxe king size rooms located on the fifth floor of the hotel. Our room was spacious, elegant and extremely comfortable with a wonderfully soft king sized bed, lounge chairs, modern amenities including a TV, mini-bar, air conditioning, free wireless internet and incredible views over Ban Jelačić Square and the centre of Zagreb! Our room was a relaxing, stylish and comfortable place to relax after a big day of travel and as there was a festival happening in the main square during our visit we really appreciated our soundproof windows which blocked out all the street noise below. Hotel guests also have 24 hour a day free access to the fitness centre and business centre of the hotel.
Our beautiful ensuite bathroom was modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and very stylish. It featured a shower over bathtub with towels, indulgent toiletries and a hair dryer all provided.
We were also lucky enough to take a peek inside the beautiful, newly renovated and super luxurious Crown Suite during our stay! If you're looking for the best hotel room in Zagreb to splurge on during your stay in Zagreb then the Crown Suite is the room for you! The suite is spacious, elegant, luxuriously styled and decorated and has an enormous private terrace overlooking Ban Jelačić Square and Zagreb with incredible views!
Hotel Dubrovnik has a number of dining and bar options available for its guests. The American Steak & Grill House is a restaurant which specialises in American barbecue cuisine along with a wide range of other specialities including traditional Italian cuisine and Croatian delicacies. All dishes are prepared using the freshest and highest quality ingredients and can be paired with an excellent selection of domestic and international wine and the perfect way to finish off your meal is with a sweet delicacy from the hotel patisserie! The wide range of choices in the restaurant ensures there is something to satisfy all tastes! The restaurant is stylish yet relaxed and guests can enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant in the main city square or on the summer terrace of the à la carte restaurant.
Hotel Dubrovnik also houses Dubrovnik Cafe, which is one of the oldest and most famous of Zagreb's cafes. It overlooks the main square and has a beautiful and elegant art deco styling which creates a wonderful atmosphere. It is the perfect place to people watch over Ban Jelačić Square or meet locals and visitors alike and become a true part of this historic, popular cafe which also has some of the best coffee and cakes in all of Zagreb!
Breakfast was served in the restaurant and there was a wide selection of items available in the buffet including cooked breakfast items, cheeses, cold meats, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, fresh bread and pastries, juice and tea and coffee. The staff were professional and friendly and kept the buffet fresh and well stocked throughout our time in the restaurant.
Hotel Dubrovnik also has excellent conference and event facilities with modern, multi functional, well lit conference rooms of various sizes with sophisticated technical equipment, air-conditioning, beautiful city views, excellent catering options and professional staff who will ensure the event is of the highest level.
Our stay at Hotel Dubrovnik was fantastic, the service was excellent, our room was elegant and comfortable, the food was fantastic and the hotel could not have been any better located. We'd highly recommend Hotel Dubrovnik to anyone visiting Zagreb, you won't be disappointed!
