Bluesfest Wins Australian Event Award

Australia’s most well known roots festival, Bluesfest, recently won the award for Australia’s Best Cultural, Arts or Music Event at the 2014 Australian Event Awards. The panel of judges is made up of industry representatives, and the award recognises artistic excellence, innovation and/or support of music, arts and culture — all of which Bluesfest has undoubtedly accomplished over the years.

Bluesfest Director Peter Noble has said, “We were up against other major events such as Vivid Sydney and Santos Tour Down Under, all of them were deserving to win, making our win even more thrilling. Once again we show that regional events in Australia can also win major awards, even up against those fully funded by bodies such as destination NSW. I am thankful to my amazing and dedicated team, without them none of this would be possible.”

Bluesfest has also been nominated for the Pollstar Awards’ International Music Festival of The Year Award for the third year in a row. This makes it a total of five times that Bluesfest has been nominated, setting a record in Australia! The winner will be announced at the Annual Pollstar Awards in Nashville, 26th February 2015.
