SUNDAY LUNCH WITH TYRELL’S WINES AND MERCURE RESORT HUNTER VALLEY

On Sunday 30th June, in celebration of the Hunter Valley Food & Wine Month, Tyrell’s Wines and Mercure Resort Hunter Valley and putting on Sunday Lunch at The Hunter Valley Steakhouse in the Mercure Resort Hunter Valley Gardens. Chef Jean Marc Pollet from the Hunter Valley Steakhouse has designed a four course menu for the event, including two seafood courses, matched with Tyrell’s wines. BRIAN COX – AN EVENING OF SCIENTIFIC PHENOMENA

Lateral Events in association with BBC Worldwide Australia are presenting Brian Cox’s tour of Australia this August, an evening hosted by guest Adam Spencer. Brian Cox is a British particle physicist, who has his own television programs and makes scientific matters each to understand as well as entertaining. Shows will take place at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday 10th August, the Hamer Hall, Arts Centre in Melbourne on Wednesday 14th August, the Capitol Theatre in Sydney on Friday 16th August, Royal Theatre, National Convention Centre in Canberra on Saturday 17th August, and the Concert Hall, QPAC in Brisbane on Tuesday 20th August.

NATIONAL OP SHOP WEEK

National Op Shop Week is this August 25th – September 1st, and it aims to boost donations to charity op shops as an initiative of the DoSomething! charity. Over 2000 Australian charity opshops have been listed on the website OpShopsNearYou.com.au, sponsored by ALDI, including Vinnies, Red Cross, Lifeline, The Smith Family and Uniting Care to name a few.

TRUFFLE AND VINE DEGUSTATION – THE HILTON SYDNEY

The Truffle and Vine Degustation at glass wine bar at The Hilton Sydney on Tuesday 25th June is a five course truffle degustation with matching wines. Starting from 6:30pm at $195 pp, the menu will include dishes such as crab & truffle broth with puff pastry, prawn & truffle ravioli, and apple galette, truffle ice-cream & truffle honey, to name a few. SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS GLOBAL VILLAGE 2013

The Global Village at this year’s Splendour In The Grass music festival will deliver a mix of Australia’s conscious artists, circus performers and workshop facilitators to inspire and enrich the weekend. The Global Village will open on Thursday 25th July for a night of ceremony and celebration. Activities include morning yoga at the Temple Srage, and afternoon chanting meditation. LITTLE SPLENDOUR AT SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2013

Little Splendour is a place that has been described as a ‘magical oasis’ for families at the annual Splendour in the Grass festival. An entire field is allocated to little festival goers and the mini festival is fully fences and secure for each children’s safety, enabling them to relax, play and unleash their creative spirit. GRANT BURGE WINE DINNERS

On 12th July, Grant Burge will speak at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s Garden Court Restaurant. The event will explore the coveted wines of Grant Burge from the Barossa Valley region in South Australia. Tickets include a three course dinner matched with vintage wines, and cost $155 per person. Grant Burge wine dinners will also be held in Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast at Sofitel hotels later in August.
