This weeks Album News is massive. There’s a huge bunch of debut LP’s from right around the world, there’s others close to home, there’s EPs too and basically every genre is covered. If you’re lacking new music lately, don’t fret, there’s definitely at least once announcement in here that’ll tickle your fancy.
CLAIRE LYNCH
Bluegrass songstress Claire Lynch announced she’s got a brand new album on the way. Dear Sister is due out at the end of the month, on May 28th, and features 10 astounding acoustic tracks centered on Americana themes of love and home.
DAVID BRIDIE
It’s been five years since singer/songwriter David Bridie’s third album, and finally he’s set to release his fourth. Wake features 11 original tracks and will be released on June 7th via MGM.
WHAT SO NOT
The combined electronic duo of Flume and Emoh form What So Not, a Sydney based DJ pair who have just announced the release of their second EP. The Quack EP is set for release on June 14th and is guaranteed to hit dance floors right across the country.
CUNTER
Canadian hardcore punk band Cunter (yes, really) have announced the release of their latest full-length album 27. Due out on June 25th, 27 – which refers to the number of songs the band has written, though don’t get confused this record is only seven tracks long – will be released digitally as well as in a limited edition 7”.
A CARTOON GRAVEYARD
This month, Brisbane outfit A Cartoon Graveyard are set to release their debut full-length The Men Who Stole Your Horse Are In The Woods With My Friend. Take a look at the leading track video.
MR. LITTLE JEANS
The debut LP from Mr. Little Jeans aka Monica Berkenes is due out on July 29th. Pocketknife features 10 tracks from the little Norway songstress.
THIS CENTURY
May 31st will see the release of Arizona’s This Century’s latest release Biography Of Heartbreak.
THE LONELY ISLAND
You may remember their 2009 hit tracks “Dick In A Box”, “I’m On A Boat” and “Jizz In My Pants”, and now the comedy rap trio The Lonely Island are back with their third album Wack. Due out on June 7th, the record features collaborations with Pharrell Williams, T-Pain, Billie Joe Armstrong, Solange, Adam Levine, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga. “YOLO” is the first track to be lifted from the album.
FALLING IN REVERSE
Falling In Reverse are set to release their sophomore album Fashionably Late on June 21st via Epitaph Records.
LONDON GRAMMAR
Their leading single “Hey Now” led to demands from fans for an Australian release. Luckily, the cries have been answered as Brit three-piece London Grammar have announced they’ve signed to Dew Process and are set to release a debut EP. Next Friday, May 17th, Metal & Dust will be available to your ears, and we definitely recommend checking this one out!
LOVE PARADE
Independent outfit Love Parade will release their debut full-length album on June 1st. King Me features a collection of power-pop tracks.
EDITORS
The Weight Of Your Love is the fourth studio album from UK’s Editors. It’s due out on July 5th.
HEAVEN’S BASEMENT
British hard rockers Heaven’s Basement have announced the release of their debut LP Filthy Empire due out on May 24th via Red Bull Records via Shock.
BATPISS
Nuclear Winter is the debut album from Melbourne’s Batpiss and it’s due out next Friday, May 17th.
WALE
Wale has announced the release of his third album The Gifted and boy we cannot wait! June 28th is the day we’ll be blessed with the rappers latest tracks. Check out the trailer here:
CREEP
Even though it’s the Brooklyn outfits debut, they’ve managed to score some big name collaborations on their first LP Echoes. Sia, The xx, Miike Snow, plus more, feature on Creep’s record, due out on August 9th.
DREAM ON, DREAMER
Aussie-by-association hardcore act Dream On, Dreamer have announced the release of their highly anticipated second album. Loveless will be out on June 28th, via UNFD. Get excited.
JESSE RUINS
Japanese indie outfit (yep) Jesse Ruins are set to release their debut full-length A Film, in June. Stay tuned for more details.
FEATHERS
The ladies from Austin electro four-piece Feathers have announced the release of their debut LP If All Now Here on May 27th. Check out the first single “Soft”.
