JONKANOO CARIBBEAN CANTEEN FROM GOODGOD (SYDNEY)

Goodgod have announced their latest culinary venture for their world renowned bar, music venue and party house. They are proud to present the Jonkanoo Caribbean Canteen. After sparking one of Sydney’s biggest food trends with “The Dip”, Goodgod are teaming up with Jamaican-American chef Damion Brown to create the winter pop-up that serves Caribbean street food. DEVON DOES DINNER (SYDNEY)

The wildly popular Devon Café has opened for dinner service, kicking off Devon by Night on July 3. Already known for its gourmet breakfast and lunch offerings, Devonhas launched an exciting Modern Asian menu that draws influences from Peninsular Malaysia, and features extensive use of Japanese charcoal barbecue. The dinner menu is matched with a range of Asian and local beers and wines, all designed to complement the spicy and robust flavours of each dish. In keeping with the café’s accessible prices Devon by Night will remain competitively priced, with guests able to dine for around $40 per head. Devon also provides catering for functions, serving special set menus based on the dinner offerings.

The eclectic menu - designed by Head Chef Zach Tan - has been split into snacks, smaller plates, larger plates and more, with must-try dishes including lobster rolls; KJI fried chicken wings with go chujang and peanut sauce; pig ear katsu with crispy cabbage, wagarashi and bulldog sauce; and Mum’s Chinese egg custard with shiitake, black fungus, yellow needle flower and freshly shaved WA black truffle. Sweet highlights include tamarind ice pops, and sweet bao served with fried ice cream flavours such as pandan & kaya, peanut butter & jam, and vanilla bean & salted caramel.

BISTRONOMY COOKBOOK – FRENCH FOOD UNBOUND

The Sunshine Coast Real Food Festival is set to hold the biggest festival yet and officially launched the 2014 program on July 2 at Urbane Restaurant, Brisbane. 2013 Australian Gourmet Traveller Best New Talent Winner, Alejandro Cancino, hosted the launch of The Real Food Festival, which will once again bring together the best Sunshine Coast food products and services from paddock to plate. CARLTON DRY INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS - GLOBAL MUSIC GRANT

Carlton Dry is pleased to announce the return of the Global Music Grant as part of the 2014 Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards. Established in 2013, the grant was created to help fund a trip overseas for an emerging Australian artist or band as a way to boost their profile overseas. The grant will now be awarded by Carlton Dry each year as part of their sponsorship of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Awards. Last year’s inaugural $50,000 grant was awarded to seven-piece garage rock gang King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The grant helped fund their performances overseas with the band recently touring the US. Applications are now open for the 2014 Global Music Grant.
