Yayoi is a reliable Japanese brand have just opened up their second Sydney restaurant, and the second outside of Asia. The location for this new venue is in The Galeries Victoria, which has allowed them a nice fit out with a bright, vibrant atmosphere in which to enjoy their authentic Japanese dining experience. The home-cooked aesthetic of the meals is perfect for the father that wants to explore traditional Japanese cuisine in depth and they also have a funky, fast ordering system using iPads.

Gelato Messina (Various Locations)

ICE CREAM CIGARS!. That's right, those inventive folk at Gelato Messina have introduced a pretty out-there concept exclusively for Father's Day, and available from today. Select Messina locations will be selling packages of the Juan Hernandez Big Smoke, each box containing four hand rolled ice cream cigars in two flavours. One: The Sugar Daddy which is full of salted caramel and orange gelato with whisky cream and maple syrup honeycomb. The second flavour, Fidel's Fatty brings chocolate gelato, rum anglaise, and coconut biscuit. Both are wrapped in chocolate paper and each box costs $39.

La Scala on Jersey (Woollahra)

Modern Italian restaurant La Scala on Jersey (above The Light Brigade Hotel) will be opening especially for lunch this Sunday 6th September, and they will be treating every dad to a complimentary meal, showcasing their authentic Italian dining experience. Popular dishes include a nice, meaty Scotch Fillet, a tender Lamb Shoulder, and their excellent range of pastas.

New Orleans inspired bar Miss Peaches is always an essential hang week-round but Father's Day is going to be special simply because of one, very big, very greasy burger.
