This Saturday, April 18th, marks the world-wide celebration of World Record Store Day. The event, started six years ago as a means to celebrate the sale of vinyl music, last year boosted record sales to the highest they've been since the day's creation. This year, record stores the nation over are hosting celebratorial events, including live music, signings, appearances, giveaways and exclusive RSD releases. Below you can find a complete list of participating Australian venues.

Hockey Dad's Dreamin'
Wollongong’s Hockey Dad are releasing a 12” version of their EP, Dreamin’ which will be released exclusively on blue vinyl via Farmer & The Owl/Inertia. Hockey Dad will also be playing Music Farmers' RSD 2015 alongside Shining Bird in Wollongong (All Ages, 228 Keira Street).
Shihad's Killjoy
The New Zealand band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album, Killjoy, by reissuing a remastered deluxe version vinyl for RSD.
Courtney Barnett's Kim's Caravan
Australia’s Courtney Barnett will celebrate RSD with the exclusive 12” release of Kim’s Caravan, which will include track, “Brand New Song” and a cover of John Cale’s “Close Watch”
Florence and the Machine's "What Kind of Man/As Far As I Can Get"
Florence and the Machine is offering a 2 track 12" Heavyweight Blue Vinyl including, "What Kind of Man"/"As Far As I Can Get" which features a printed a metallic, copper sleeve.
Northlane's Rot and Singularity
Australian metalcore band, Northlane, will release 300 hand numbered units of their latest single "Rot" which will also include an instrumental version, on blue glitter vinyl. Additionally, they will release 500 Gatefold edition 2LPs of Singularity.
Foo Fighters' From The Laundry Room
Foo Fighters are releasing previously unreleased tracks, demos and covers with the 10” Songs From The Laundry Room, which features "Alone + Easy Target" (demo version), "Big Me" (demo version), 1: "Kids In America" and "Empty Handed"
Deep Purple's Out Of Hand, Black Night/Speed King and Book of Taliesyn
A release that will likely make most of our fathers happy, is that of Deep Purple, including 500 copies of 10” Out of Hand, for the first time ever on vinyl, a 7” previously unreleased remix of "Black Night" coupled with a piano version of "Speed King", and an extremely rare mono mix of Book of Taliesyn, which has never been released.
Ghostface Killah + Jay Z "Whip You With A Strap" + "U Don’t Know"
Throwing some hip hop into the mix is Jay Z and Ghostface Killah, who are releasing one track each on a 7” vinyl, "Whip You With A Strap" (Ghostface) and the classic "U Don’t Know" (Jay Z)
David Bowie's Changes, 1966 and Kingdom Come
The incomparable David Bowie is celebrating RSD thrice: with the release of a 7” Changes picture disk as part of his picture disk series, a white vinyl of LP, 1966, and “Kingdom Come”, which features the title track performed by both Bowie and Tom Verlaine as part of the Side By Side series from Rhino Records.
Mumford and Sons'"Believe/Side The Wolf"
Mumford & Sons are keeping things personal offering the first physical release of tracks from their new album on a, hand-numbered, hand-stamped boot-leg style 7”. Tracks include “Believe” and “Side The Wolf”
Sam Roberts Band's Counting The Days
Canadian Rocker, Sam Roberts is releasing a red and white splattered, 12” vinyl edition of the five track EP, Counting the Days, a follow up to his 2014 record, Lo-Fantasy.
The Wombats' "Greek Tragedy"
Englishmen, The Wombats are offering remixed versions of their single, "Greek Tragedy" on a 7” vinyl.
