Ahead of the weekend, we bring you the second part of our feature on which ten Aussie artists/acts you should be keeping an eye out for as Canadian Music Week gets ready to kick off next week! Check out our final five, suss their music and keep your eyes peeled on their progress out in Toronto - big things afoot.

BUFFALO TALES

Wes Carr's latest project has seen him earn much success around the country in recent times. A return to his singer-songwriter roots, Carr-as-Buffalo-Tales has made a great of alt-country and folk tones his own. Americana with that great Australian vibe, Buffalo Tales is one to watch in Toronto as he has that ability to light up the stage, no matter how big or small.

EMMA DAVIS

Davis is one of those local singer-songwriters who is a true gem to discover. The London-born artist, who's supported the likes of Matt Corby and Husky, was a finalist for the FBi SMAC award - a true demonstration of the impact she's had on the Sydney music scene since moving to Australia almost a decade ago. Her sound is open and honest, her presence welcoming and endearing. Check out her clip for "Stand Tall" and fall in love.

SONS ET AL

The Melbourne band have been making ripples around the tour circuit since coming together in 2012. With their second EP Godspeed, the band has been able to expand further on the tones felt on "Wayward Feet" (the EP's first single) and really highlight why they're an act to be watching. Seeing them go over to Canada and be put in the spotlight in front of so many different types of music fans is exciting, as it feels like the momentum on the home front is only continuing to get stronger. Watch this space.

MARTA PACEK

Just check out Pacek's vid for "Nothing Going On", taken from her Voodoo Dolls and False Alarms record. The girl's got serious talent. The alt-folk/county songstress has a killer style, her band is awesome and her music is excellent to listen to. Having begun her career writing with the iconic Mark Seymour of Hunters & Collectors fame, you can notice that clever and great sense of songwriting has been shared here. Pacek already has a good base in Toronto, so it will be good to see how the city welcomes her back next week.

FAIRCHILD

Fairchild, the indie pop lads out of the Gold Coast, are also doing some rad things at the moment since their debut EP Burning Feet began releasing singles last year. With a sound that could translate easily into the American market, the band formerly known as Fairchild Republic have been ticking all the right boxes in evoking that classic edgy pop feel that bands like The Killers have been rocking for years. Another band who've been representing for Australia well, Fairchild are definitely ones to watch.
