Presented by Performance Space, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2014, and Carriageworks, Day For Night is a performance exhibition spanning three days. NSW: Bangarra Dance Theatre opens applications for Rekindling youth program for 2014

Using dance theatre to reconnect Indigenous youth with their culture, Bangarra Dance Theatre’s program, Rekindling, explores ‘who you are’ and ‘where you come from’ with young people from indigenous communities in New South Wales. Applications for the 2014 program are now open to young Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders based in or nearby the NSW communities of Nowra, Wollongong, Lismore and Coffs Harbour, and the Queensland communities of Theodore, Beaudesert, Weipa and Cairns.

Sydney: New work by De Quincey Co: Inner Garden

For three exclusive performances, Inner Garden is a new multi-disciplinary performance installation created by De Quincey Co, set inside a hidden walled garden in Callan Park, Rozelle. The show will be performed from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th February.

Melbourne: Grammy nominated band Hiatus Kaiyote to play free show at the NGV

Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote, recently nominated for a Grammy award, will be playing a free show at the NGV as part of Melbourne Now. The show will be on Friday 21st March.

Melbourne: CONSTELL-ACTION comes to Federation Square in February

In it’s Australian premiere, a new light installation dubbed CONSTELL-ACTION will come to Fed Square from Thursday 13th to Friday 21st February, running 8:30pm-11:30pm nightly. Using your mobile phone, you can ignite light waves across 400 small lights, as part of the interactive installation. CONSTELL-ACTION is a part of Pause Fest 2014, created by the media design and art group panGenerator.

Melbourne: Beg, Scream & Shout at the Abbotsford Convent

Independent filmmaking collective, Beg, Scream & Shout, have added a number of acts to their annual sounds and visions event, to be held on Thursday 13th February at The Shadow Electric, Abbotsford Convent. The group has previously sold out performances in 2013, showcasing the creative forces of Melbourne’s up and coming artists in a collaborative and engaging space.
