Sandra Bernhard to tour Australia

Sandra Bernhard will bring her unique live show to Australia in 2015. ‘Sandyland’ will visit Melbourne, Sydney, Perth & Brisbane in March. This hilariously funny singer/actress/comedian will combine stand up, cabaret, rock and roll, and even a little burlesque in her show.

2015 will be Bernhard’s fourth time in Australia. “I love my Aussie friends and I can't wait to get back and entertain the troops down under. It's been far too long!” she said.

I, Bunyip

I, Bunyip hits the Sydney Opera House from the 22nd to the 23rd of November. This insanely clever show from the acclaimed ‘Earth Visual & Physical’ puppet theatre company introduces you to characters from indigenous folklore. Discover the worlds of Nyols, Yawk Yawks, and Turongs among other characters from Australia’s Indigenous oral history.

I, Bunyip was created in consultation with five Indigenous communities and draws on stories from across Australia. “It is important for today’s children – and indeed Australians of all ages — to discover these incredible, authentic stories. We are privileged to have learnt and been given permission to share them” said Scott Wright, Artistic Director of Erth Visual & Physical.

Kylie Banyard presents ‘Mono Nuovo’

Pompom gallery is proud to present ‘Mono Nuovo’ by artist Kylie Banyard. Primarily a painter, Banyard works across a range of media. Mono Nuovo continues the artist’s interest in ‘outmoded optical media and alternative modes of living’.

‘Departing from her previous exploration of exterior views of unusual dwellings, Banyard here explores the interiors of a selection of handmade houses, as well as some of the unusual objects kept within these spaces. For this new series of paintings a group of hazy kaleidoscopic photographs acted as a starting point, providing atmosphere and a chromatic ground from which to construct the work’.
