• Oct. 6 at 2:56 p.m.: A trimmer was stolen from outside the American Legion on North Lake Street.

• Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.: A woman said she was informed by the IRS that her Social Security number was used to file taxes several times.

• Oct. 9 at 3:48 p.m.: Melissa Miller, 48, of Amherst, was charged with felony theft, two counts of petty theft, and three counts of criminal tools.

• Oct. 10 at 12:53 a.m.: Eric Staggs, 37, of North Ridgeville, was charged with drunk driving, obstructing official business, reckless operation, and marked lanes. He was stopped on the Rt. 2 eastbound entrance ramp from Rt. 58.

• Oct. 10 at 4:58 p.m.: Police intervened in a domestic dispute on Jackson Street between a mother and daughter.

• Oct. 11 at 2:57 p.m.: Police responded to a complaint on Hazel Street, where a mother said she found evidence her juvenile daughter had used drugs and alcohol.

• Oct. 12 at 2:49 a.m.: Aaron Sooy, 25, of Vermilion, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Oct. 12 at 12:13 a.m.: Reinaldo Contreras, 18, of Lorain, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Oct. 13 at 2:19 a.m.: Briana Ruiz, 20, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant for arson and criminal damaging through the Elyria police department.

• Oct. 14 at 9:55 a.m.: A woman said her ex-boyfriend keeps messaging her via phone and threatened her.

• Oct. 15, time unspecified by police: A suspected shoplifter ran from Target on North Lake Street, fleeing into a wooded area and dropping merchandise on the way. Police searched the Apple Orchard subdivision and surrounding area but did not find the man.

• Oct. 16 at 7:12 p.m.: Drew Calhoun, 20, of Amherst, was charged with felony possession of drugs and concealed weapon violation.

• Oct. 16 at 2:12 a.m.: A man was suspected of stealing a bottle of vodka from Giant Eagle on Kresge Drive. The suspect was stopped but the bottle was not found.

• Oct. 18 at 1:57 p.m.: Heidi Maddamma, 45, of Elyria, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

• Oct. 19 at 4:46 p.m.: A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at Taco Bell on Rt. 58.

• Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.: A man discovered 18 withdrawals from his credit union account totalling $4,423.21.

• Oct. 20, time unspecified by police: Officers were dispatched to the Amherst Hospital emergency room, where Michael Ostanock, 42, of Amherst was arrested on a warrant for violating a protection order. He was allegedly intoxicated and had a small child who was being treated.

• Oct. 22 at 1 a.m.: A truck struck a light pole at Wendy’s on Rt. 58, then left the area.

• Oct. 22 at 2:37 p.m.: A man told police he suspects his son of stealing a power drill and other tools from a Cooper Foster Park Road home.

• Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.: A man reportedly stole items from Tractor Supply Co. on Kresge Drive, then fled in a Ford Taurus.

• Oct. 23 at 11:55 p.m.: Nancy Lotko, 57, of Lorain, was charged with disturbing the peace at a Middle Ridge Road apartment.

• Oct. 25 at 12:45 p.m.: Destini Woods, 24, of Lorain, was charged with possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and drug abuse instruments. Jillian Carter, 27, of Lorain, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Woods was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court. The arrest was made in an Amherst Plaza parking lot and police noted both women “appeared to be nodding off while inside of the moving vehicle.”

• Oct. 25 at 4:53 p.m.: A worker at Nate’s Marathon on Rt. 58 told police he spotted a suspect in a Sept. 21 theft from the store. He followed the woman’s vehicle to Lorain.

• Oct. 26 at 1:35 p.m.: A Westchester Drive man was very upset that his mother had hidden his beer from him. The intoxicated man had also taken a painkiller, a report said. He had fallen down some stairs and had a contusion on his head.

• Oct. 26, time unspecified by police: A young girl said a suspect inappropriately touched her. When she said to stop, the boy repeated the touching. The suspect denied the accusation.

• Oct. 27 at 3:15 p.m.: Christopher Tasker, 30, of Amherst, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and failure to reinstate his license. Police found him when responding to a complaint of a man slumped over or possibly passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle.

• Oct. 27, time unspecified by police: Two juveniles recorded naked images and a sexually explicit video, which they sent to another juvenile, police discovered. The phones of the all three parties were confiscated. Police requested a warrant to search the phones.

• Oct. 28 at 6:29 p.m.: Peter Nadal Delacruz, 46, of California, was arrested on a warrant through the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office for a probation violation with full extradition. His vehicle was towed. Inside, officers found medical marijuana for which he had a legal license.
