T minus 6 weeks until baby girl arrives. I am so excited but so nervous at the same time, as I am sure most new moms/dads are! One thing I worry about is having a safe car seat for when baby girl arrives. Recently we received the Safety 1st Elite 80 Air + 3-in-1 convertible car seat to review, which Zane has been “testing” out in our car. I am a huge proponent of buying a convertible car seat because I dislike the idea of continuously buying new car seats each time the kids outgrow them. One of the most amazing features of this convertible car seat is the full body side impact protections with Air Protect +. As moms/dads, our #1 concern when we put our kids in the car, is them being safe. With this car seat, it is positively the safest choice in full body protection on the market. Air Protect + combines the advanced protection of our Air Protect® cushion system with patented GCell HX™ foam designed with hexagonal shapes for superior protection around the torso. TOGETHER they provide full body side impact protection.
We were eager when we received it to set it up. Installation was quite easy as there is easy to identify color-coded belt paths and installation labels, that lead you to the correct way to set up the car seat. It then can be set up with a 5 point harness and can be readily adjusted to 10-position headrests that adjusts to fit your growing child. It features 4 position recline. There is no need for your child to ever be uncomfortable in a car seat!
It also has a convenient, no re-thread harness when you need to fit your child int the car seat. In the past with other car seats, I am always having an issue trying to re-thread the harness and ultimately have to end up calling my husband. With Safety 1st, I no longer have that problem. Once secured, it can easily be converted to a belt-positioning booster, which is where my daughter is at right now. For the latch system, it is a one click latch, that can be readily set up. The carseat is made of steel reinforced metal frame around it, so you know your kids will be safest in this car seat.
This convertible car seat can be used for children 5-80 pounds, so you will not need to buy a new carseat once you purchase the Safety 1st Elite 80 Air + 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat! It works as a rear-facing car seat for babies up to 40 pounds, or 2 years of age, and then readily converts to a full 5 point harness up to 80 pounds.
