#Care4Today Mobile Health Manager! - The Mommyhood Chronicles - Product Reviews, Giveaways and Everything Mommy!

*This is a compensated campaign with the Motherhood. All my opinions are my own and not swayed by outside sources.*

As parents, my husband and I are always busy and find little time to attend to the most important facets of our lives, such as taking medicine. We are always so worried about my son getting his medicines, that we forget to take ours!  Thankfully now, we have the Care4Today Mobile Health Manager app that can remind us when to take our medicines, what medicines we need to take, expiration dates, reminding one to visit the doctor, scheduling, and so much more. While I love this app so much personally, I love it  from a professional perspective as well. I end up writing prescriptions for my patients, just to have them come to me at the next appointment not taking it! Of course the #1 reason is THEY FORGOT! Care4Today Mobile Health Manager is so very important for everyone to download to help with the important reminders about taking medicines that we might forget!

This app can help me manage important reminders for the healthcare of my family members and me. The Care4Today™ Mobile Health Manager app is a two-way secure messaging platform that works with almost any mobile phone regardless of operating system or service provider. It can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play, or you can you can sign up at the website.

The app allows you to create a free account on which you can schedule medication reminders via text message (for any prescription, over-the-counter medication or nutritional supplement) and update information from either your mobile device or the website. You do need to have a smartphone to get these very important reminders! Setting it up to receive texts will allow you to receive this important information.  This is useful to me as a mom and as a tool to recommend my patients in my dental practice. The app allows you to set it to count down your medications and alert you before you run out, or remind you of refills when needed. Users simply can create a free account, schedule medication reminders (for any prescription, over-the-counter medication or nutritional supplement) and update information from either their mobile device or the website! Sounds amazing, right?!!

Nearly 70% of Americans take at least one prescription drug, and more than half take two drugs. I am not surprised that 50% of people who are supposed to take regular medications don’t take them for one reason or another. I see it everyday with my very own husband who forgets to take his medicines, as well as hearing it daily from my patients. Often times it is because they simply forget! I can completely understand, because when things get really busy it is hard to keep track of everything. Personal health, and that of your family is the most important thing to stay on top of. I am thrilled that there is now a way that I can keep track when I go on medications, or if one of my children needs a course of antibiotics for something.

One of the amazing features of the app is the ability of parents to set Epi pen reminders of expiration dates. Zane is highly allergic to peanuts and we have EpiPens all over the house, grandparent houses, and at his school. As much as I like to remember to check expirations, I am human and forget. This could result in the matter of life and death if we have an expired EpiPen. Now I could add the EpiPen image to my app page and set the notifications and reminders in the settings. You can set them up as needed – daily, weekly, monthly. Each medicine has an image and you can add them accordingly to your personalized profile, so everyone in your family knows what medicines you take and when to take them.

Another feature I love that is gives family members and loved ones the ability to support one another by monitoring their medications and encouraging them to stay on schedule. By linking to other Care4Today™ Mobile Health Manager , users and family members will receive a notification if their loved ones fails to take their medications. Once alerted, family members can call or text their loved ones to encourage them to stay on schedule. Family members who are connected via Care4Family™ can also share their progress with one another or a healthcare provider. I love this because my parents live very far from me, and my dad is on several medicines he needs to take for the rest of his life. Now I could remind him, if he forgets, to take his medicine to stay healthy! I also like that if two parents are raising the children separately, they have a way to keep track of the child’s medicines when they do not have the medicines in front of them.

The statistics are that four in ten adults in the U.S. care for an adult or child with significant health issues, and more than 25% of children in the U.S. take medications to treat ongoing health conditions. Most forget to take their medicines and now they have a way to adequately be able to receive notifications via the  Care4Today™ Mobile Health Manager.  I am able to set up my reminders that my medicine is running out, even before it actually does! You can enter the refill and current quantities, the amount of leeway time you would like for your reminder, and then add the name and number of pharmacy so you can call from within the application. This app does it all! As a dentist and as a parent, this app is ingenious!

Lastly,  this app is involved with the Care4Charity™, which  gives people , who take care of their own health, the opportunity to make a positive difference in the world. Users are able to select three charities (American Diabetes Association, AIDS United, Save the Children)  to receive a donation from Janssen Healthcare Innovation for each day they indicate they have taken all of their medications!

This app is a great way to help keep track of it all!  I love feeling secure in the knowledge that I won’t forget something as important as medication when needed. Now if I could only get it to remind me to pick up the dry cleaning too I’d be really happy!
