Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new with each of them.

Issue 69 of Mollie Makes came with a cute Pom Pom Necklace Kit. There was also a a little booklet with 3 bonus projects – to make a felt bouquet, pastel drop mobile and a Scandi cushion. I didn’t like the necklace so decided to try the felt bouquet.

The craft kit contained ready cut felt circles in three shades, beads, metal chain, needle and white thread. I pushed out the felt circles and discarded the rest of the felt sheet which was my first mistake. If I’d read the instructions I would have realised that I needed the waste felt to complete the project!

The instructions were pretty good and I started stitching the petals together to make the flowers. I raided my felt stash to find matching colours for the extra circles I needed and, before I knew it, I had 6 felt flowers.
