Panasonic on July 4th 2016 New Delhi launched Eluga Note phablet smartphone in India. The keynote was delivered by Mr.Pankaj Rana, Business Head of Mobility Division, Panasonic India. We covered the event in New Delhi and the whole keynote was uploaded to YouTube. Panasonic Eluga Note sports a 5.5 Inch Display, Octa Core processor, 3GB RAM and 3000 mAh battery. The phone is priced at Rs.13,290 and will be available in offline markets. Below are the full technical specifications and other details about the device.

Panasonic Eluga Note Specifications

Design & Hardware

Panasonic came up with a beautifully designed Phablet phone which is neither too big for the hands, nor too small (well at least for my hand) and it comes with a textured design on the back. The device is 8.15 mm thick and weighs 142 grams, which is really great for a Phablet. The complete dimensions of Panasonic Eluga Note are 146 x 74.5 x 8.15 mm. Panasonic Eluga Note comes with a removable back panel and champagne gold color. Under the hood, Eluga Note packs 1.3 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 chip with 3GB RAM. The internal storage available is 32 GB, which is expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card.

Display & Connectivity

Panasonic Eluga Note sports 5.5 Inch IPS LTPS Full HD Display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with pixel density of 403 ppi. The display is said to be LTPS or Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon display, which is low power consuming and brighter. There was no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass protection at the launch event but we're trying to find out if Eluga Note comes with gorilla glass or not (we'll update here shortly). Eluga Note is a Dual SIM phone which supports all major Indian 2G/3G and 4G LTE bands. Moreover, it also supports 4G VoLTE for faster data access. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS with A-GPS support etc. There is also an FM receiver with RDS, 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones and IR blaster with a dedicated app for controlling IR based appliances.

Camera

The camera department of Panasonic Eluga Note is really impressive on paper. It packs a 16 Megapixel sensor on the back with Triple LED Flash, F/1.9 aperture with 6P Lens. The rear camera is capable of shooting Full HD videos. The front camera is a 5 Megapixel shooter, which is equally good for capturing selfies. Panasonic claims that the camera of Eluga Note is good for low lighting photography, thanks to F/1.9 aperture and 6P lens helps in ultra fast focusing. The front camera offers gestures based features for capturing selfies. You can also use your voice for capturing selfies. Other features include smile shot.

Operating System & Battery

Panasonic Eluga Note runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Panasonic FitHome OS. The OS is engineered by Panasonic and is one hand friendly. The phone, despite its big size, can be operated easily with one hand, thanks to the UI. The Thumb-Flick app access on home screen helps in single hand operation. Eluga Note packs 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery which is long lasting.

Price & Availability

Panasonic plans the device, Eluga Note for offline markets. The device is only available in champagne gold color for now and is priced at Rs.13,290, which is quite competitive. Eluga Note will be available at all key retailers and offline stores.
