Wolves vs Newcastle predictions and betting tips for the Championship this weekend including free bets to spend, the best odds and reasons for each bet tip.

Wolves face Newcastle at Molineux on Saturday evening and we’ve got betting tips and predictions for the 5:30 kick off. FA Cup giantkillers Wolves still have work to do. They may have seen off Liverpool but after taking the lead through Helder Costa they slumped to a 2-1 loss at Burton last weekend.  Paul Lambert can’t afford to let his dwell on their success in the cup competitions and his side are aiming to do the double over the league leaders.

At St James’ Park, Walter Zenga guided his side to a surprise 2-0 victory. The Italian has since been sacked with that victory one of few during his tenure. His replacement Paul Lambert took a while to find his feet but Wolves have infinitely improved aided and abetted by some decent transfer business and they will be confident of getting something from this fixture.

They have the third worst home record in the league with just four victories at Molineux this campaign. Two of those successes have been under the new boss and they also drew 4-4 with Fulham in a game they probably should have won. They’ve netted half of their 18 home goals in the last four encounters and will be confident they can find a way past Rafa Benitez’s side.

Newcastle were terrific last weekend as they beat Derby 1-0. Jonjo Shelvey was unplayable at times in the centre of the park and will have to be marshalled carefully by the hosts. They could and should have extended their lead and could have paid a heavy price when a goal line clearance preserved their lead in the final minute of the 90. Coupled with Brighton’s 3-3 draw at Brentford it was enough to secure top spot for the Magpies who are now unbeaten in four. With the Seagulls at home to Burton at 3pm, they could be second by the time this game kicks off, but three points will send them back to the summit. Mo Diame’s return has been a huge boost and even without top scorer Dwight Gayle, they’ve been in good form since slipping up against Blackburn.
