Liverpool v Arsenal predictions and betting preview for tonight’s Premier League fixture including the best betting tips and some amazing enhanced odds offers.

The marquee tie on the midweek Premier League schedule sees table-topping Arsenal travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. The match gets underway at 8pm on BT Sport, and here are our match predictions and betting tips.

Liverpool v Arsenal Predictions

If there's one thing we can be certain of, Liverpool will be lining up very differently from the side that drew 2-2 away at League Two Exeter in the FA Cup. Despite this, The Reds still have a whole host of first teamers sidelined through injury with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Sturridge all likely to miss out on their crunch match against The Gunners tonight.

However, Jurgen Klopp will be buoyed by the return of captain Jordan Henderson and centre back Mamahdou Sahko. The latter will be a particularly welcome sight given Liverpool's dire injury crisis at the back. Such has been Klopp's desperation over the current prognosis over his key defenders, the German has even recalled Tiago Llori from Aston Villa. Yes, it really is that bad!

Form wise, Liverpool aren't exactly setting the world on fire and still remain a very unpredictable side when it comes to betting. The Reds have comprehensively turned over Manchester City, Chelsea and Southampton in the last couple of months, but have also lost to Newcastle, Watford and West Ham in the same period. It certainly doesn't fill me with any confidence ahead of my Premier League predictions.

Opponents Arsenal are in excellent form at present if you decide to ignore the anomaly that was their 4-0 Boxing Day defeat at Southampton. The Gunners have won five of their last six matches in the league – a run which has seen them rise to the top of the table. As well as this, Arsene Wenger's men have also progressed to the next round of the FA Cup by virtue of their 3-1 victory over Sunderland at the weekend.

Similarly to Liverpool, Arsenal's resources have also been stretched recently through a number of key injuries. Alexis Sanchez was in electric form before a hamstring injury sidelined the Chilean a month ago, and the likes of Jack Wilshere, Danny Wellbeck, Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin also join him in the treatment room. Nevertheless, this has been counteracted by the superb form of Mesut Ozil over the last few months. The German international has been churning out assists at a record rate, and already looks an excellent early candidate for player of the season.

Well it's the moment I've been dreading, so I'm going to be a man about it and just rip off that plaster quickly. I'm backing a Liverpool win for tonight’s prediction. Despite the injuries, I can see tonight's match playing into Liverpool's hands. Arsenal always enjoy a lot of possession and this will give Klopp the opportunity to implement his much documented 'Gegenpressing' tactics. Liverpool have tended to struggle in matches where they are expected to go on the attack, but have excelled in the games against Chelsea and Manchester City when they were able to play on the counter. This combined with Arsenal's recent performance at Southampton is my reasoning.

My first Liverpool v Arsenal prediction is for Liverpool to win, there are some enhanced odds available that you should use, 10/1 at Paddy Power and 7/1 at Ladbrokes.

Moving over to the goalscoring market and I do expect there to be a few goals tonight, and of all the players on show, Olivier Giroud is definitely the most in-form. The French international has scored 16 goals in all competitions for Arsenal, and seven of these have come in is last eight appearances.

With this in mind, my second Liverpool v Arsenal betting tip is for Giroud to score anytime in the match at 7/4 with Bet Victor.

Finally for what looks like a banker in the cards market at Lucas Leiva should revert to his usual position in centre midfield following his brief spell at centre back. For all his hard work and endeavour, Lucas isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box and has already managed to get booked eight times in 19 Premier League appearances. Against a flamboyant Arsenal midfield, I fully expect Lucas to make it nine cards for the season.

Providing me starts, my last Liverpool v Arsenal betting tip is to back Lucas to be booked anytime in the match at 11/8 with Paddy Power.
